I hope 8.0 captures that spirit of adventure feeling again. They could've done it with 7.0. I love "journey" stories, where you're headed with a group of enjoyable characters to a destination. FF10 was one of my favorites for that reason. I sort of hoped DT would be that, but the characters were so bland and most of the environments and the chores (quests) we got upon arriving to a place did not spark any excitement in me at all. I really hope 8.0 cuts down on the party size and has an actually interesting setting with good writing and maybe even a decrease in these chorelike fetch quests. I'd take a 15 hour main story over a 25 if it were actually engaging all the way through.
