I've always been of the opinion that they should let you up battle gains further. earning +26 per stat makes you take ~250 battles (factoring in restaurant meals) to max out your stats, which is still quite a number considering you won't beat the game in one gen (unless you go out of your way to grind melons and abuse the mushroom soup). for comparison, the DS RPGs take around 1000 battles each to beat despite their sky-high encounter rates, but they're less vexing since battles are shorter and you can keep the same party throughout the game (and the same exp is received by all party members present)

There should have been an episode where Marcus and Lucemon Falldown Mode has a fist fight when he uses Paradise Lost . The series wasted it over a game that hardly anybody remembered.
