She's a daemon, specifically a therion (eats daemons and other things), called the Lord of Calamity. That doesn't mean she's evil, of course, but daemons in general are perceived as bad, mostly because of the Abbey's propaganda. That being said, she's very volatile and willing to do questionable things to achieve her goals, especially early on.

At most she does that crushing gesture with her claw and the like, but it's not really about being chuuni, she just kind of does that subconsciously when she gets a bit too excited over an incoming battle.
