Devils are much better baddies than Demons. In both PF or D&D, Demons are too one dimensional.

I've decided that Wrath of the Righteous kind of sucks, and makes me less excited for Rogue Trader or Expanse. I'm enjoying it, but only because I'm using toybox to cheat around all the gay stuff, so the game as-is just isn't very good. One enemy can cast an AOE plague spell that kills your dexterity and you just can't hit a barn from them on.>why not use specific spell!?Because that's gay, if an encounter can only really be dealt with if you happen to have this character around, who happens to have this spell, who happens to have enough casts left, and then it just gets reapplied the next turn, that's shitty. >>546348948The main complaint I have with wotr is that they decided to make it a challenge game rather than a good game with an optional challenge difficulty. Even on core difficulty you can be hard walled if you aren't prepared for certain encounters and/or took specific choices earlier that make said encounters harder. As further evidence the base difficulty settings are just kind of retarded. Even on daring companion autolevel is on by default and it's not until core that autolevel gets turned off. Likewise respec is only an option as high as normal by default. I played kingmaker on challenging and hard and on my first playthrough on challenging I never got punished as hard as in wotr on my first playthrough.

>>546350869Nah, aside from the lack of enemy variety, the big issue with PF is that it doesn't really get fun until about 10-15 hours in, after you get past Kenabres. Early game Wrath is a miserable slog. Owlcat are especially dickish in that they will put enemies who will hit you with status effects that you literally cannot heal until chapter 2 minimum. They later patched in scrolls to the vendors, but those scrolls can cost thousands of gold, and money is hard to come by early on. Chapter 2, you start getting some tools to deal with the 90% of the bullshit the game throws at you. By around Chapter 3, death and stat ailments becomes a joke for your party. Chapter 5, if you've built your character correctly and are applying all those greater enduring buffs, you should be so OP that your enemies feel like little toddlers even on unfair. Anyway, I think Owlcat has the expectation that you'll be save scumming early on, then prebuffing later on. Most of their encounters are built around that. You go in, you beat the enemy by the skin of your teeth, decide that the victory isn't worth having your main tank stat damaged and level drained to 7 hp, reload, then rape your enemies with a new strategy barely taking any damage.
