Druids and shamans should be combined into one class with faction based aesthetic variants but identical gameplay. Call the base class "Primalist" or something. So horde resto is water element based healing and alliance resto is nature based. The horde caster dps spec is elemental based and the alliance caster dps spec is star/astral based. The melee spec is a pure tank spec, with horde orcs and tauren having enhancement with shields, alliance having bear druids, and horde trolls having loa type shapeshifting shit.

Having race/faction variants of classes is a good idea. You can add more flavor to each class like with the vanilla priest spells. Making each priest race have aesthetically different spells representing their gods is unambiguously good design. It also allows way more latitude in making the lore work well with the gameplay, blood elves were added to horde and draenei to alliance largely just to give the faction exclusive classes to each other. If they had already been available as variants of a broader class it would not have been necessary potentially preventing some of the stupider turns in the lore over the years.In fact just from a lore perspective alone I think it's a good idea, allowing the night elves to retain a monopoly on druids and the horde shamans does a lot for the setting. The same that could be said for having troll priests with Loa themed spells.You might even be able to do it with more classes to allow for things that don't even exist yet. Possibly add a necromancer that's a variant of the warlock, a DoT using spellcaster that summons minions, the overlap is there to allow for that.
