I live and work exclusively in the white of pic related (green is coverage, orange is fucked coverage, white is fafo) and even where it claims there is rural coverage, there often isn't, it's 10x slower than it ought to be, the telco has just turned it off or abos have stripped it for parts. So it's like an hours drive to maybe get 5-10mbps on mobile (so on a good day 1.5mb/s download on steam kek). Sometimes the properties I work at will have starlink, or we can butter up a miner up at the local pub with a few beers for a wifi password and mooch it off a nearby mine site, but for the most part I dip into civilization, download what I need, then back to the wasteland for work.>>546635129>You can download everything locally now, works well if you have frequent flying areas, ~400-500 gig one-time download if you install it all on a hard drive.Rotary physics are miles better in 24, it's worth the jump.Nice, the physics weren't shithot in 2020, XP11 honestly still feels the best for rotary stuff, but it's hard to beat 2020's fidelity for vfr. 2024 looked to have some nice campaign-ish type stuff as well with some job variety. If I can grab it all and run the majority of it locally though that's awesome. I saw they were streaming tons of shit at release and just noped the fuck out.

Anyone know which mod this MB Trac forestry crane is from?
>>546693668Most likely a private or WIP mod from Forbidden Mods or Modding Welt, Germans always do lots of forestry equipment for the Unimogs and MB Tracs but they don't always release them to the public. But HR Forst und Fahrzeugbau always do a selection of high quality forestry related mods and they're all available on the Giants ModHub and they have a few three point forestry cranes, not as neat looking as the frame mounted crane, but they'll do the job.The long frame "Unimog U1250, U1450, U1650" mod available on the Giants Modhub also comes with frame mounted cranes. You *might* be able to edit the XML for those and mount it to the MB Trac.

>>546703804>Man why is modding like this now. Kek the worst I know of is Steel Fury, the best mod for that is gate kept by an angry slav (who didn't even make the original mod, he stole it from the original author who died) who routinely just stops letting anyone have the mod for months, sometimes years at a time and then when he's really broke he starts charging people €40 on paypal for the latest version and you have to pay for *every* update.

As the other anon said it's a Modding Welt mod so it's probably private.
Just got my Bigscreen Beyond 2e in today, so I'll give some initial warnings:>All the youtubers talking about the glare being greatly reduced were either full of shit, or the BSB was just awful. It has a lot of glare for simming, so much so that if you are flying at sunset you will have trouble making out your gages and MFDs through the milky cum bath filling your eyes (average BSB Discord user will like this though).>Comfort with the silicone facial interface is ok, not that clammy for an hour flight at least, and the light weight is fantastic. My crystal super with a Studioform facial interface, wedges, and top strap is actually a lot more comfortable though, just noticeably heavier.>FOV in the BSB2 is actually a bit higher for me than with the Crystal Super 50ppd because I can't quite get my eyes close enough to the lenses on the Super do to my European face shape. >Colors are good, black levels are great, but it's completely overshadowed by the glare. It's definitely a workable image quality, but I'd rather have QLED with glass aspheric lenses and a tiny bit of mura, than OLED with no mura and pancake lenses that ruin the fuck out of the image. Edge to edge clarity is slightly better on the BSB2 compared to the Super 50ppd, but they are both pretty good. >Bigscreen spent these past several months getting the eye tracking on the BSB2 to register blinking and pupil dilation for maximum fidelity anime girl (male) on anime girl (male) VRCHat mutual gooning sessions, instead of getting Quadviews or even really some ancient OpenXR DFR working. This is what their faggy Discord Troon customers demanded, and if you buy a Bigscreen Beyond it will probably turn you gay. >My Audio strap so far is DOA, not being detected by my computer, so I can't comment on the audio, but I'm leaning on returning the whole HMD instead of just the strap if I can't get used to the glare.

This is like flying over snow. I wish I had an altitude hold though, it just has a hdg/nav hold, and the smallest throttle adjustment up here makes a big difference and the t160000 throttle isn't great for precision.

>>546874048That's too bad but not surprising. I hoped at least the GCAP partners would use a single trainer, but trying to pitch a foreign trainer to the UK who will have to give it to the Red Arrows was probably impossible from the beginning. >Up to 6,000 jetsYeah I highly doubt any future advanced trainer will ever be produced in such high quantities.I would be more interested to know what France will actually do. They are already a very prideful country, so buying a foreign trainer, be it from Italy or from the UK seemed to me always weird. One solution would be to accept Aeralis proposal to jointly develop it... But it could also be a recipe for delays/disasters and both the UK and France need a replacement soon.>tfw the USN will not buy the 346>tfw the UK will not buy the 346>tfw the 11s will build their own trainer based on the 346Feels bad.

Another round. Guess the cockpit. This time it's really easy.

Has anyone tried pat wilsons campaign generator fc since the il-2 update? I tried it and it loaded but my mission didn't have the correct plane and I had no squadron with me. Didn't have time to test anything out but I will tonight.
these things are tanks
>>546996451I though you were going to land on the top of it kek
>>546996731I tried a while back but the wheels clipped through.
Sorry bongs, you're getting BOEING'D
>>547008658Fucks sake no, we've already got a tonne of F-35s on order that we won't see for ages. Also what have BAE got to do with the T-7?
>>547011493>Also what have BAE got to do with the T-7?Collecting government contract stimmys as the licensed manufacturer.
>>547011493They are the foot in the door. Buy our trainer and we'll let you integrate some software in the UK.

>>547018071oi mate, you got a loicence for that gun?
>>547018170A dodgy Italian man sold it to me
>>547018239carry on then
>>547018317Off topic but gun laws in the UK are not actually as bad as people think you just need a reason, you can own a 50 calibre sniper rifle if you're in a gun club for instance. They banned handguns after a school shooting in the 90s though, but you can get around it by sticking a piece of metal to the end of the handle so it counts as a longer gun, really stupid.
>>547019293that barrel is preposterous I love it
>>546986578What is the plane then?

>>547126623They look great, I'm doing another night flight, IFR this time at FL180, I'm flying near some thunderstorms and the flashes of lighting are kino, I can't screenshot it unfortunately as they're sporadic.
>>547128165Just caught one! Not the best angle, looks a bit weird here, I saw a bolt a minute ago hit the sea and it looked amazing.
>>547128472I tried to do a night flight recently with the a330-300 in 24, but when I opened the windows, they wouldn't close :(
>>547129074It's actually a year today since MSFS 2024 launched, sad there are still bugs but it's in a better place than it was I suppose. It really isn't safe to fly a PA-28 through a thunderstorm, even at 18,000ft, it's getting thrown around a bit. Taking screenshots of the lightning flashes is a good reaction time test though.

err, what?
>>547135925it's prepping you to visit allah
>>547136352I have no idea why it said that, it's correctly telling me to descend for the approach, albeit a bit late.
>>547143404it's funky sometimes it'll tell me to ascend to like 16k ft. max and maintain when i'm in the a320, even tho i requested a higher altitude and set my flight plan for 32k ft.and on the other hand it'll tell my to take the piper up to 40k ft.
>>547143778>on the other hand it'll tell my to take the piper up to 40k ft.That's an ORDER, now start climbing!
>>547143778As expected, it told me to descend far too late, I'm at 10k over the runway. I wonder if it's because the aircraft performance didn't seem to be set properly in the planner, it had the rate of descent right at -1000fpm, but the descent TAS was 0. I've had these issues before, although they've been worse in the past and only tell you to descend when you practically on top of the airport.>>547143778I can never tell if it's to do with the route planning, or if the ATC itself is just bugged, telling me to descend to 0ft randomly but then never following up on it was definitely a bug.
The police is raiding my hangars
ok
>>547144512i've thought about giving up with the built in atc, and using one of those AI atcs or>Vatsim...
N-NANI?
>>547149130Well that was a pointlessly long flight thanks to the ATC. They also don't help you, even if you do missed approach they just tell you to land without giving you headings. I'll do another flight tomorrow and input all the aircraft performance information to see if it makes a difference.
>>547151487Forgot to add, I was told to go around after that jet overtook me on approach, but I was only told to go around once it landed. You can see on lnm that the top of descent was a lot further back than where the ATC actually told me to descend. The rest of the trail is a shitshow because I didn't know what I was doing and had to go around.
Bed time
>>547149130I like taking off from Santa Monica, and then doing a few touch and go's at LAX, even as the big ass jets lands.
I really wish I could take nice screenshots but my poorfag PC runs everything on low.
>>547176032If you want a good screenshot bad enough, you can save a track flown on potato settings, and then replay it at 12 FPS Ultra settings for screenshatting purposes. Pic related was flown with an old HP Reverb with massive amounts of foveated rendering, than replayed on a nice 1440p 21:9 monitor.
>>547180526What game is this? Been setting up old Microprose sims on dosbox-staging and after playing F-15 Strike Eagle II ('89) for a while even this screenshot looks bit like magic.

>>547187359It's a free download to fly the (admittedly shitty) Su-25 or the trainer version of a P-51 on the Caucuses map or the more resource demanding Mairanas map. All you have to lose is hard drive space, plus there are some very good free mods like the A-4 Skyhooker and the OH-6 Caboose.

>>547130195I've been waiting for a discount but that will never happen, most likely.
>>547234325That looks fucking great
>>547234646Yep, in certain light conditions XPlane with ortho is the best looking sim I've ever used. Sometimes tho you get tiddie clouds.
>>547235098I agree, it seems to look worse than MSFS most of the time but every now and then the clouds and lighting make it look fantastic. I still think the clouds in MSFS 24 could do with more work, no idea if we'll see that in the future, they're all too blobby and lack definition.
>>547235387Yes, especially up close. I hope they will improve them but they are also fucking performance hogs for very little improvement sometimes. Sometimes I prefer BMS' clouds over volumetric ones. Here's a bumpy landing.>>547235960I wish Uberti made their 1873 Cattleman in that barrel lenght. I would buy one just for shits and giggles.

>>547237483barrel is 12 inches, overall gun length is probably around 17-18. dunno what that'd be in communist units
>>547238135You guys post stuff like that, and then when I fly in a photogrammetry area (i.e any populated area that is not known worldwide for having a large amount of homosexuals) just looks like a neutron bomb went off and melted all the buildings slightly. I like realistic, consistent proportions on buildings more than details and textures.
>>547242535Photogrammetry looks great until you're too low and then it looks like everything is made of plastic has been melted. If you go on the ground in a photogrammetry city it's like being in a bad dream.

>>547245126I can wholly agree on that. It has no soul and it's ugly. I seriously can't believe SAAB co-developed it.
>>547245642I actually like the look of it, but it's clearly a meme
>>547245642The tought alone that the T-7 is most likely going to win both the USN and RAF bid makes my heart sink. >>547246236From some angles it's cool, from others not so much. Kinda like the F-35.
>>547246842I don't think it'll win the RAF bid, Aeralis seems to be growing rapidly as a company, and it'll create a lot of jobs here if they get the bid, we also want to move away from buying stuff from the yanks.
>>547244684>Following graduation, the students selected for fighter roles will stay at Decimomannu for an additional 135-day T-346 advanced training course before progressing to U.S. fighter formal training units. The remaining students will train stateside in mobility, special operations, or command and control platforms. What is the point in training someone on a fast jet if they're not going to fly a fighter at the end of their training?
>>547247161Ah, just saw that it'd be UK final assembly if they do win the big for the RAF, who knows, I really can't see us using non-British planes for the Red Arrows.
>>547247301Can't the M-346 emulate the flight characteristics of other planes? Maybe there's a T-7A module for it.
>>547247161I honestly can't wait to see their first flying prototype they'll use as an actual entry in the RAF replacement. I still don't understand if they're going with the modular 346 lookalike or if they settled on the modular hawk that they showed in Dubai. >>547247320Both Boeing and Leonardo offered a final assembly line in the UK. If Aeralis wasn't such a new company they would've already won hands down.>>547247301Here in Italy everyone does up to phase III IIRC, with only frontline fighters drivers doing phase IV. It's probably different in the USA.>>547247457>select T-7 module>aircraft turns off>ejection seats get disabled.
>>547248061>Reports suggest the UK is studying the purchase of a first batch of new trainers over the next five years for the Red Arrows, followed by a second batch in the late 2030s. Analysts also point out that the Red Arrows' replacement could be expected to be British-designed or at least British-assembled, adding another layer to the selection process. For Boeing and Saab, a UK foothold might position them closer to training requirements tied to the Global Combat Air Programme with Japan and Italy, while BAE could gain an extra marketing edge for its future combat-jet systemDo you think it's possible we could have both? Seems a bit silly, but I wonder if we had Aeralis Red Arrows and T-7A trainers for the RAF.
>>547248061shouldn't you root for the 346 to win the raf one?
>>547249009For their general trainers yes, for the Red Arrows no since it would mean 2 display teams in Europe flying the same aircraft. I don't really like that. >>547248662That's the best possible scenario I could think of but with the M-346 instead of the T-7. I also highly doubt the UK would go for it due to the cost it would have.Let's say you tell Aeralis they will only make the Reds jet, all of a sudden the unit price would balloon out of control due to the economies of scale. Not to mention what it would cause to their possible future investment in Scotland if not big exports are secured. And why would any other country buy the Aeralis jet if the UK itself decided to buy the M-346 or the T-7? You would end up in a situation where you'd have to explain to potential customers that it's totally not inferior and it was just a timeline issue, just like we have to constantly remind people the Yak-130 is more italian than the M-346 is russian. And if the M-346/T-7 are going to be temporary then they would become an superflous expence that. If I take my M-346 bias out of the equation, imho the solution that would allow the UK to save face the most would be to invest heavily into Aeralis and let them have more time to cook up something. Meanwhile if the T-2s end up kaput they could fully face the cost of sending all their pilots to be trained at the IFTS or at the greek copycat that uses M-346s as well once it launches. Then when Aeralis is ready have both the RAF and Reds fly the same jet. Another wild and retarded idea would be to ask japan to join their TX program if it exist, rope in Leonardo since it's already based on the M-346 and develop a successor to the M-346 that for the UK and JP becomes their main trainer, and for Italy an improved M-346FA. This last idea sounds more and more retarded as I write it.
>>547251346I hope Aeralis wins because I want a British company to make it, but also the modular jet idea sounds interesting.
>>547215656
>>547260961I don't know what it is about I-77 but I can spot it right away. Apparently, this F-15 was a static trainer in Pensacola for awhile. Don't know where it is now. I can't seem to find anything about it since a year ago when this video was floating around. At least I'm too lay to dig around because I don't care that much.
>>547251993Modular stuff is interesting but usually it ends up being a gimmick with a worse economy of scale than doing 1 or 2 proprietary things.
>>547251993BTW, have you heard any news about the RAF top brass actually wanting the M-346? Prowling the internet and socials I've started to see some accounts of people who seems to be either RAF personnel or simply in the know claim that, but when I DM them for the source they usually don't really have any or they just go "it's what a bloke told me".
>>547264886Nothing beyond 'it's an option' and that it could be expensive to buy and maintain.
>>547265496Thanks. Pass up the chain that if you buy them there's a limited time offer where you get a 1kg of homemade Tiramisù per airframe. Get the FA version and on the hardpoints there will be some GBU32 shaped salami al cioccolato.
