Not in hardmode yet, so no sails. Though the build wont look too different with them, cause they'll be furled up.

Ouch
>>
>>546671863
For what?
>>
>>546673054
I’m on get fixed boi and I want a massive, walled-in, biome-proof jungle boss arena that’s about 250 high by 500 wide that doubles as a life fruit farm. The purest autism but it fires my dopamine receptors.
>>
>>546673762
Damn, that is gonna take time. I assume you at least have the requisite equipment and potions to speed up the building process.
>>
>>546674250
Don’t worry, I got HoC, builder/mining/calming potions, terraspark boots, bundle of balloons, frog gear, magniluminescence, pretty much anything I can use pre-hardmode.
>>
>>546673762
Can life fruits spawn in front of player placed walls though? I dont think they can. And walls typically make the plantera fight harder rather than easier, unless she's different on that seed.

Playing through this for the first time, trying to go mostly blind. Is there some way to know what order or even where a boss might be in game? I've only beaten the eye and brain of cthulu, and the slime king. I've found skeletron but he killed me in one hit and took 0 damage so I probably need better gear/some gizmo, but beyond that, i have no idea, beyond that there's probably a boss in the legends of the hidden temple i found.
>>
>>546686797
adorable
and not really as far as im aware, the game doesn't really tell you too much. maybe the guide can help a tiny bit sometimes as to boss order. You can definitely fight skeletron soonish, but he is relatively tough.

update is that I'm up to the Calamitas Clone

That don't mean much if you haven't played the mod. Basically, I've finished everything pre-plantera but this.

Every boss I finish seems to give me a new toy, a weapon, armor, or at least a relevant accessory, with a few exceptions. A lot of these fights really benefit from grabbing the very latest weapon, or a recent one that's well suited in some way. It's nice that player power progression seems about as tight as it is in actual terraria.

still playing as a "rouge" class

Any news from the major mods? Been kinda boring without any Calamity drama lately. Like the most interesting thing was finding out that DM Dokuro is giving away the official Calamity soundtrack for free on his soundcloud.
>>

Not afaik; they're all probably slowing down on their work, since the update is right around the corner, which is gonna break whatever they end up making.
>>

That would explain it. Thank goodness I can stay on an older version for an extended period of time. No offense to the vanilla game, but I can't go without mods.
>>
>>546708053
Well guys, I’m in hardmode. I have learned a little too late that my surface rail is a little too close to space, so wyverns will often pay visits. The biomes are effectively quarantined into little 250x500 boxes so I don’t need to worry about that. An early orange zapinator and a wand of frosting provided much needed DPS early on, and although I’d like a spirit lamp with forbidden armor, I’m fine for now with my adamantite armor. I may try mechdusa later for the lulz.

the jungle grass has 2x2 holes in most places to ensure life fruit/plantera bulb growth. From what I've read bulbs and fruit should be able to spawn in front of safe walls, but plantera's ability to freely grapple might be a problem.
>>
>>546864059
nta, but as one who just had to farm plantera a bunch, my tip of the day is to just use green solution on a mushroom biome to turn it into a jungle for a good plantera arena

sadly the clentaminator isn't available on upside-down worlds, so this isn't really applicable

nice arena tho, are those grid of solid blocks for cover?
>>
Does anyone know why my party girl's prices aren't at maximum discount? According to the wiki, she's supposed to love the wizard and zoologist and like the hallow, which I've clearly set up here. Her happiness dialogue mentions all three, and the zoologist is housed within 25 blocks, so she's still part of the village. I tried removing the town slime just in case, but that didn't help.

It's weird: she used to be happy beforehand and sell pylons for 7 gold 50 silver, but after I shuffled some NPCs around she's stuck at 7 gold 90 silver.
>>
>>546865661
Nevermind, I'm retarded, I just realized the NPC housing flags are more than 25 blocks apart. For some reason the flags don't always stay where they're initially placed...
>>
>>546865209
>nice arena tho
Thank you pookie

No, the arena is so big that the center wasn’t considered jungle, so those grids are there to make sure it’s jungle.

What’s the best way to get a sandstorm? Just sleep it out?
>>
>>546909661
Pretty much. I'd recommend roping up about 25-30 blocks from ground level, and then make a platform about 30 blocks long on either side for a total width of 60. Place a water candle on each end to increase the spawnrate, and make a row of walls across the platform at chest height so that you won't be affected by the movespeed debuff. Make a little hut up there or nearby so you can sleep it out, and you're all set.
The forbidden armor is kinda dookie imo, but you should definitely try it out if you can.

Leviathan and Anahita beat my ass for hours and then didn't drop the rouge weapon when they died. This unlocked some nonsense in the abyss, which prompted me to invade so I could craft the Apoctolith weapon, but it turns out that weapon is balanced around a stun debuff, which did nothing to the next boss. Still, I have abyss stuff now.

I also killed great sand sharks to craft the sand based weapon, but that wasn't any better than Defective Sphere or Samsara Slicer. I used DS against Anhaita and Slicer against the leviathan. Also, the accessory that gives you a damaging slow aura helped a whole lot with both.

Astrum Aureus seemed like it would be really neat and hard due to it's weird pounce and its ability to walk through blocks, but the pounce actually just misses if you run on a flat surface, so all I had to do was drag it over to my sky asphalt. It dropped Auroradical Throw, which finally replaced Kelvin Catalyst as my auto-targeter. It also out damaged everything else, so I no longer had a reason to use the 4 weapons I was carrying. It's hard to beat a full-screen auto-targeting block-ignoring attack.

Beating Astrum also unlocked a chest in the dungeon, so I got a new higher damage weapon I have to aim, the Heavenfallen Stardisk.

Next up is Golem, and he's been absurd. In the last phase of the fight, there's just waves of bouncing fireballs everywhere and I'm not really sure what I'm supposed to do about it. I already put slopes on a wall.

The fireballs bounce deterministically, so why does it feel like they target you somehow?

Even if Hytale turns out to be abysmal dogshit in every conceivable way, it'll still be better than Minecraft. God I hate Minecraft with a passion.
Minecraft is so extremely shallow, and the only decent competitor it has in Vintage Story, which to me goes too far in the other direction being far too autism simulator for its own good.

1. I'm trying to get these boulder traps to roll to the left, but 4/5 refuse to, no matter what I do. The mirrored pair on the left side of the arena roll to the right just fine though. Any tips on how to get these things to behave?

2. I'm having an issue with some flying mobs somehow spawning below the arena and getting stuck, even though that shouldn't be possible with the way I've kept it away from everywhere else. I'm trying to set up a pair of teleporters underneath the farm to teleport them inside, with a hoik above the inside pair of teleporters to remove them asap, so that they don't get teleported back outside. However, when I myself go through the teleporters, the hoik doesn't remove me. Am I not doing this right? The hoiks and teleporters are on the same 0.5 second timer.
>>
>>546982206
Ok, so apparently boulder traps are autistic and choose the direction they roll based on whether their X-coordinate is even or odd, which doesn't even make sense considered 3/5 of them were even, but 4/5 behaved the same. I guess I just got lucky with the set on the left all rolling to the right side? Whatever, I got them all rolling correctly, even if they're not evenly spaced how I wanted them to be.

Still being thumped by this teleporter hoik though...

It was fun with friends back in the day, but ever since microsoft got it, it's been kinda circling the drain. I hadn't really played since the nether got revamped, there was just so much added stuff that might as well have not been added due to how time consuming it was to find it. Combat update was also lame imo. I never dabbled in PvP so I guess it was for those people, but having your sword do 0.5 dmg because you didn't wait 1.5 seconds after swinging was dumb as hell. The sweep attack we got as cope for timing our attacks was also lame as fuck, it does like what, 0.5 extra damage in a small AoE? That doesn't do anything for the player unless they're swiping the feet of mobs in a grinder for XP.

Rant ovah

No, I have not. Might be an ok idea in order to eat up flight time, though I'm not sure how much it would do. It also might be a problem, since it would disjoint the fireballs, so that they might make their return trip at the same time as even more other fireballs. However,

>>546941269
Figured it out immediately after posting. Just use the flying dutchman. The golem, at this stage, only shoots the fireballs to the left and right. Lasers are still a problem, but infinite and steady flight means that during this part of the fight, I only have to deal with all the lasers from both enemies, the lingering attack, and the golem's jumps.

The Heavenfallen Stardisk also let me target the flying head very effectivly, so that I could only deal with one enemy. So, both weapons had use in this fight.

Post golem I got an armor improvement.

Alien, Pumpkin, and snow moons are easily handled by these two weapons. Duke fishron is still basically handled by the flight and evasion skills from vanilla. There's a few more complications, but the learning curve isn't steep if you can already handle the vanilla duke.

Plaugebearer is fucking impossible, because you can't see his attacks in the jungle. The missiles and bullets are fast and home on you.

But it turns out that your odds are pretty good if you've got some defense and a basic stalling track. Just, chugged potions and threw weapons, and after a few deaths, it worked.
>>

>>
>>547002534
I'll be honest w/ you anon, I'm not really into building either - I want to be, but it seems all the creativity I had when I was younger up and vanished. I kinda just end up making bare-bones housing at notable places for the pylons, and I don't usually decorate them. When I made >>547000891, I was mostly just doing it so that I'd have a workable example of the wall designs from this guy's video >>546851716 that I could mess around with. It caught my eye because he was using very basic materials that didn't need 3 different crafting stations to make, or required going out of your way for uncommon resources. It's literally just biome wood and stone. Building the rest of the house kinda felt like work that I had to force myself to do, but it became easier the more I worked on it, and the end result is something I'm pleased with.

The best way to get into building really is to just copy a bit of other people's builds, and then tweak it. Make shapes, and try to turn it into a building - that's how I ended up with that roof shape. It's somewhat of a miracle I ended up with something decent on my first try, making 'soft slopes' like that is something I don't really understand on a fundamental level.

There is a massive difference between "can stay off of the ground for a long time" and "never has to touch the ground."

Get Hook of Dissonance 33% from the queen slime. With that, you can make a rectangle underground where the martian madness enemies can't get you. Assuming you want pure ranger, equip Daedalus and kill everything on the surface. When a ufo appears, just shoot it. Whenever it uses its beam attack, just grapple past it. Once it reaches stage 2 and starts exclusively using its beam, this will be harder. It will rarely drop its attack directly on top of you. It's better to just let this hit you and prepare to dodge the next attack. I would use hollowed armor for the free hit in order to counter this. Once you're nice and practiced at this, the ufos will, inevitably, die eventually. Worry less about aiming, and more about never dying and shooting your grapple at the correct location. With that, you'll easily get 3 or so treasure bags per invasion. I also used the regeneration accessory from the golem, the brain accessory, and the belt. Boots and wings were not needed.

For pumpkin moon, just retreat to your asphalt skybridge, hop in your ufo, and never touch the ground again. Get broom. If a pumpking spawns, he becomes your only real concern. Retreat into the sky with him and dance.

Frost moon is the same, except there's more ranged enemies and you need more firepower. The candy corn gun seems fine, but isn't really a homing attack or a single-target gun. Really, anything you have should be good enough. You should have no problem getting lunar weapons, using betsy/fishron weapons, or using pumpkin moon/ xeno weapons. In a pinch, just pull out your chlorophite bullet megashark long enough to earn a chain gun from santa and upgrade yourself. If you're losing, fly up and watch for harpies.
>>
>>547192651
oh yeah i've alr got the SI and MNG, I was just making a note for later that i want to have them in the same slot for quickswapping, since i won't need the SI if i'm flying with a broom

i'll try that strat for the ufo, sounds like a cool idea. alr got 2 RoDs tho, but the HoD has been languishing in my storage, so i might as well give it a go

that reminds me that i should make an asphalt bridge under my skyrail, though i wish there were asphalt platforms so i could drop down if need be

flying saucer kept trashing me until I realized I was better off flying away on my broom than trying to cheese the laser in my arena that clearly was not big enough

finally got my xenopopper after a half-dozen kills, but it's a good lesson for the future
>>
>>547280467
Seems too tall to me, and plenty wide. I'm the one using dissonance hook. The inside platforms need to go, as you'll just get caught on them. The point of the roof is to block the ufo bullets + missiles + sparks.

Once you have the rhythm, the saucer can't touch you anymore. Until then, you die.

Moot point, if flying away is good enough, but that requires the broom, which I can't get without the ufo or dutchman.
>>
>>547283658
The height is because it's for general use fighting bosses - I don't really get stuck on the platforms. The roof is actuated, so I can get rid of it whenever. It does its job of blocking everything but the beam quite well, the length of the arena is just about 50% too skinny to kite the saucer and dodge the beam with SoC/Tabi dashes. I completely forgot about using the HoD since I got sidetracked by other projects.

I managed the pumpkin moon through attrition with just the shroomite hoverboard/bone wings before I got my broom, so it's entirely doable. Admittedly, I farmed it with a cheesier setup involving a pirate cannon afterwards, since I luckily got the broom fairly early on. I think I might skip the Frost Moon, all things considered, idk. I still need to beat Duke, Daytime Empress, and then move on to the Pillars...

In other news, the Aerial Bane fucks. I also discovered that the minecart upgrade isn't all that beneficial aside from its speed. If you have it enabled, you start taking contact damage when you run into mobs, whereas without it, you seem to project a hitbox in front of your minecart that does a ton of knockback to enemies you ram into, and you get i-frames upon hitting them as well.
>>
>>547029886
Empress of Light took a few tries. I figured if I could get the soaring insignia, I would be able to better handle the enraged empress. Turns out that it only increases flight time by 25%, which isn't unlimited fight, at all, so I cannot retreat into space to avoid particularly difficult attacks.

However, the real problem is Everlasting Rainbow. In regular terraria, it's big. Here, it simply is faster than you. It's massive. It has more projectiles. I'm treating it as a zoning attack, trying to dodge other attacks within the small space it leave me, and I basically die instantly. It's been a whole day of this, a good hundred tries so far.

On top of that, the pattern of attacks is random now, which means I can't just plan out a series of perfect movements from the start to the end of the fight. No, I require strategies which work on reaction.

Weapon's been upgraded to the Malachite, from the plaugebearer.

Realized both the knight and steampunk/clockwork aesthetic were underutilized in Terraria so I sketched out my idea for an invasion event where a giant mechanical castle floats in the air and spawns enemies from its gates. After you progress far enough it transforms into a giant mecha knight boss with a hand cannon thats actually a sword hilt.
My only gripe right now is that the boss doesn't really feel 100% vanilla. Any suggestions or additional enemy ideas?

as for making the boss feel more vanilla, I'd probably make it change forms at half health, and maybe turn it into a miniboss. that said, keeping it as a proper boss would be unique. again, very cool art

I used an arena like this for the dreaded nautilus
it's 36 tiles tall x 123 tiles wide (two 61 tile wide rooms with a divider in the middle)
he needs line of sight to summon the squids, so as long as you alternate which room you're in, he'll either fail to summon the squids if you time it right, or they'll get stuck in one of the rooms until you have time to kill them, or any of your summons do

Unmodded, how much of your playthrough would you say is spent post-plantera? I feel like I spend 20% there. There's not really much exploration and you're overpowered compared to basically every enemy, I just farm golem/plantera a bit and do the dungeon, then cultist/pillars/moon Lord. I don't even bother with the Martian madness or moon events most of the time.
I never really understood why people love post-plantera so much, the loot is cool but I always found this phase of the game boring, besides some bosses the challenge is basically gone

I haven't plauyed terraria in like more than a decade, but I spent a lot of time on it with a friend that died. Now I want to give it another try with mods, but I see
>Mod List - Summaries of the most recommended/popular mods (mostly outdated)
How outdated it is?
What are the recommended mods these days for a full modded experience? Last time I played Moonlord or whatever the skeleton thing was the last boss.
Also I remember we managed to remove corruption enterely from the map. It took many many hours but we were teenagers and had the free time.
>>
>>547495632
The second list was last edited in May. I need to get around to updating it though, because a lot of nice new stuff has come out. If you give it a few hours, I'll have the list updated, assuming Pastebin doesn't cuck me again. That site is a real bitch sometimes.

I only said a few hours because pastebin really fucking hates me and often tells me I can't post because something breaks a guideline or whatever.Used to have more detailed explanations, but I guess their shitty moderation thinks I'm AI or something. I've updated the second pastebin for recommended mods. I added a bunch of mods to the list, and somehow, Pastebin didn't bend me over and FUCK ME SIDEWAYS for having so much text. I'll slowly add descriptions, assuming Pastebin lets me, but every mod on in the list is one that's worth trying at least once. I've also added two categories to the bottom; novelty and graphics. Novelty is just a bunch of small, goofy mods that do nonsensical things, while the graphics category is for mods that alter the graphics in some way (mostly the lighting engine, but still). If you guys have any more recommendations, by all means post them and give a reason why you recommend them. For the lazy people who don't want to scroll back to the top of the thread, here's the link (it's already in the OP post):

I fucking hate this game.
>>
>>547467634
Not that much time, honestly. It's a really cool part of the game gear wise and enemy wise I think, and it especially opens up with how much you can build, but there's not really that much incentive to stick around too too much. Though, I do always do Fishron and now Empress, and both moons, and the dungeon grinding, and golem and the old one's army, and really there's actually quite a bit to do, but it's all combat.
>>
>>547510165
I would really appreciate if you could separate actual quality of life mods like WMITF and Recipe Browser from the blatant cheating mods like AlchemistNPC and Angler Shops etc.
Also way to go hating 'bloat' but only in calamity and praising chinkshit mods.
>>
>>547520193
I'll separate them later. They were all already listed under QoL, and I just left them as is. I really should've done that earlier anyway. As for the bloat thing, the only "chinkshit" mod I said anything about so far is about the only good one out there that I've been able to find. Calamity gets its (justified) bashing because that's simply how it is. Calamity IS bloat, no matter how hard you try to make it not sound like bloat. It's not easy being impartial when the negatives are as strong as the popularity of the mod. Plus, Calamity actively takes forever to load compared to other mods, whereas the "chinkshit" mod doesn't.

I'll put a note about it being bloat though, just for you.
>>

anon nobody gives a shit about literal who e-celeb drama you keep trying to force
>>
>>547520912
What exactly is bloat to you? Adding a lot of content? At what point is content good and not bloat? It takes forever to load because of poor programming and the size of it. Notably it can be large and have lots of content without it being bloat. Is it because there are some useless items? All mods add some items that are useless, but you don't call them bloat. I really don't get it.
>>
>>547467634
I'm currently spending a lot of time post-golem, just because I want to experience a little bit of everything. This is my first time actually trying to beat the game in years, since I usually burn out right before WoF. That said, yeah you're pretty strong as a character, but I'm still finding lots of ways to die, mainly due to those events you don't usually bother with, plus the optional bosses. I think mainly I'm putting off moonlord because I don't want it to be "over", despite the fact that I'm probably going to start another run right after, or maybe finish an old one.
>>547509957
I recommend king/queen slime mount and featherfall potions.
>>
>>547521768
I guess I should clarify from my perspective then. First, let's look at Calamity.

Calamity adds several THOUSAND items. There is so much in there that unless you actively go looking for everything, there's not a snowball's chance in hell that you'll find half of it. On top of that, there are many recipe chains that have a bunch of needless middle-man items that don't serve any purpose other than being filler in another item's recipe. There's also tons of armor sets that will likely never see much use, like the Fathom Dweller set or the Statigel set (debatable, those can actually be decent to some degree). There is an overwhelming quantity of items in this mod, many of which have such a niche use or no real use at all that many of those said items could disappear without any fanfare.

Now Coralite has no wiki (that I'm aware of), so I'm just gonna need you to take a "dude trust me" pill here. The mod adds a whole melee subclass that uses throwing shields (which are kind of like boomerangs), with most of them being useful in their tier either as sidegrades or direct upgrades. Sure, there's a few useless ones, but the majority of them are used to create improved weapons. Then there's all the automation; there's a few parts you may never use outside of decoration, but that's what they could be used for if not for their main purpose. I'm not going to feign assuming a theme (because fuck if there is one, I have no clue), but at the very least, the majority of the items and content in this mod have some purpose besides being filler. Now, if we're counting furniture as bloat, then by all means the mod is bloat. It has like five full furniture sets.

I've played both mods a bit too much, so I have some backing to my arguments towards bloat and non-bloat. By all means, if you feel I should add a bloat warning to more mods, I'll do so, but I only singled out Calamity because it has historically been called bloat by the threads for years, and for good reason.
>>
>>547523425
Ran out of characters, continued.

As for the "chinkshit" argument earlier, the reason I included Coralite is because it's genuinely a good mod. Sure, it's not some overly hyped thing, nor is it the second coming of Christ. It's just uncharacteristically good compared to the majority of Chinese mods out there. There's clear balance with both vanilla and modded, good sprite work (some duds though, obviously), and decent music. It has composition that isn't throwing darts ad a trash bin and collecting all the trash fluids in one bucket, which is too nice for some of those chinese mods that just don't even try. Finding a GOOD Chinese mod is hard as shit, and that's the only one I'm aware of that's even remotely good. Plus, some anons have talked about it in the thread before, so that's enough reason for it to be on the list, personal interest aside.

Just giving it a fair chance with all the other fun mods out there, is all.

I slacked off last night and didn't finish touching up the recommended mod list's descriptions, but I went back and finished that today, giving very bried explanations of what most mods do as well as adding small notes where needed. I did not add descriptions to two categories however, those being Novelty and Graphics, as their mod pages are sufficient in giving you reason to try them. Seeing is believing, after all. Most mods however have very barebones explanations, but they are listed because they are worth giving a try.

After careful consideration from the minor quarrel yesterday, I have made certain changes here and there to the placement of some mods in their categories (plus some that I overlooked). Additionally, I added a Decorations section for mods that are specifically designed for adding decorative tiles and blocks. I do not know that many, so feel free to suggest more for the list if you have any. Of course, this goes for any mod you're willing to suggest. I'm not going to throw every single mod on the list obviously, but if it's a mod that's worth checking out, it will be listed. This includes Chinese mods and mods from non-English speaking communities, if those are suggested. Quality can be found across the globe; it's just finding the quality that's the hard part.

Finally, regarding cheat mods, I've put them at the bottom of the list. Some can be used to good effect outside of cheating, but it's your single player experience, so you do you. A few mods were not moved there because their major design theory is not inherently cheating, but those that are designed as cheats or extreme "Quality of Life" changes will be put down there. This does not mean they are bad mods; just that they require moderation when using them if you don't want to cheat.

I won't bring this up again until some time after 1.4.5 tModLoader happens. I'll add new mods if you guys suggest any, however.

Jesus FUCK
So, that's Calamity enraged Empress of Light. The buffed Everlasting rainbow is, indeed, some fucking horse shit. During her second phase, I eventually figured out that you can just retreat back into the center of her attack, where there will be lots of room for dodging, but trying to do that means you've limited your dodging options in the moment when you absolutely must return to the center, so that's not good enough on its own. After a good 200 deaths, I opened a notepad and began to record the attacks which the enemy used in order. There is still something I don't understand about how the empress chooses her attacks, but mostly it's a chain of attacks where she might choose to skip an attack. So, for the most part, there's only ever two possible next attacks, which means you don't have to remain constantly able to react to any incoming attack, and can actually safely touch the ground sometimes.

Specifically, there are two attacks which might lead into everlasting rainbow, which means I can start using betsy's hover before the rainbow even comes out. After the rainbow, it's either sundance or just a bunch of homing darts, which means you only have to account for those two attacks. Sundance, in particular, is a lot easier if you are able to make space for that attack before it comes out. Specificially, if you can be off of the ground, or moving quickly to the left with enough space, then it's not as much of a problem.
>>
>>547615560

In the last few thousand hp, the empress seems to use double the attacks. Sometimes, that's not an issue, since it's the same exact attack with double the projectiles. Other times, the empress does Rainbow + darts at the same time, which is evil. I got somewhat lucky, and so I don't actually have an answer for those moves, because they didn't hit me and the empress died after I saw them.

Had to learn that attack where rows of lances travel in straight parallel lines across the screen. You just hold basically still and hover a little bit up or down. The attack doesn't fire perfectly vertically, so you never have to dodge left or right, which simplifies it.

I'm not even a summoner

Ok I don't think I'm understanding the scope of what I need to dig out to prevent world corruption long term. Six tile wide tunnels, but when I start digging around one side it just goes all the way down, seems like. What exactly do I need to do? I know that there's some kind of V that gets inserted into the world, but...is it literally everything outside the middle of the world? Wouldn't it just be easier to dig out the middle? or are these like containment trenches to slow the spread?
>>
>>547642807
>xhe doesn't do this
ngmi
>>
>>547642807
You can see a picture of it on the wiki, but the exact placement varies.

Grass can grow vines and/or floating brambles, so you don't want exposed dirt. Wall tiles can also be infected, but I don't think they can infect anything else. Isolated clumps of corrupted blocks may exist a short distance from the rest, so you will want to dig a short distance away from your corrupt zones.

In the end, if you're planning on purifying your corruption later, there's almost no point in making a perfectly fit isolation zone. You would be spending a good 20 minutes in order to save yourself 1 minute later. Just make a big rectangle.

Bombs/tnt down. Mining gear + mining pot + good pick to move left and right, and then you'll bomb that anyway in order to get rid of the wall tiles. Add stone to the walls and ceiling of your containment

For the V, I recommend having a big stack of sticky TNT available before hard mode starts. The surface also gets infected faster, so you may want to place sunflowers around the middle 50% of the map. Once that's done, just bomb diagonally and stay far enough away from your corruptions that you don't get swarmed with higher level enemies. You don't need to keep the stuff in the smallest possible area. You just have to stop it from escaping into the rest of the map.

I think stuff can jump 2 empty spaces when infecting, but a bomb makes like a 6 wide gap, so bombs are always the answer.

>>
>>547645128
too close to the corrupt tiles You'll die a bunch. I also can't tell if those are tnt shafts or not.

Digging diagonal is risky, since it's hard to visually measure the distance which the corruption can jump like that, which is the other reason I recommend tnt bombing instead of pickaxe digging. It makes big holes.

Anyway, you've basically got it there.

As for spread speed, how many hours will it be until you kill moon lord and get the upgraded cleminator + the drill containment unit? It's not that fast, but it doesn't need to be. You can sit there and watch the blocks corrupt, if you want.

After enraged EoL, Ravager was a joke, which is good because it has a 5% drop which I need. He's basically a modified golem, sort of.

Lunatic cultist is a bit of a problem, in that his attacks move faster than me and his aim is perfect. With the new rouge weapon from the Ravager, I can life steal enough to make up for this. Empress wings also help, as flying diagonal up is the fastest option.

Astrum Deus took a good 15 or so tries. It's a big sky worm that splits in two halfway through the fight. By the end, it becomes faster than you, and it turns pretty well.

Killing that unlocks astral ore, which gives me a shiny new weapon and a mana upgrade. I don't use man, but it's still notable. I could use astral armor, but it's summoning armor.

Moon lord folded. The extra flight speed you get from Angel Treds + wings is just enough to easily avoid his attacks, and I think they fucked up his AI too. He's not as good at leading his shots. This might be the only boss they made easier. He seems way more tanky, however. None of the weapons seemed made for the job, but I should just be glad I'm not using weapons from earlier in the playthrough.

Building a hole that the AI falls into and owning a yoyo or any sentry will solve the pirate invasion. You can just hide in a hole.

However, you've got to get ready for new goblins. If you don't get some kind of firepower before they show up, you'll be bullied. Solar eclipse, at least, eventually ends.

You can also just set your spawn point someplace other than spawn, so you don't get stuck in a loop.
>>
>>547741989
build a little house ~35 blocks up, with an open hole in the floor (cover it with platforms so you don't fall) that you can shoot down through, with enough extra room to back up away from and heal
i recommend putting a thin layer of lava in a 9+ block wide hole below your floating house
dig a 1 block wide hole in either side of the house 1 block off the floor, so that you can shoot out the sides at the flying dutchman minibosses
