How do you actually manage to get the AI to be stupid and separate it's ranged units from the rest of it's army? Everyone says "just flank" but the enemy incredibly rarely leaves it's units isolated I find. They also don't follow typical doctrine and sometimes put their units ahead of their melee units. Normally stupid, but any charge at the front is quickly joined by the melee.More often than not, the enemy AI blobs up until the two finals clash. Charging with cavalry tends to be suicidal, as the enemy melee troops are close by.

Its best to treat them like how'd you treat cavalry because theyre still squishy and not frontline material compared to Yari Ashigaru, Katana and Naginata Samurai, and ofc the Date Bulletproof Samurai. Use them for their intended purposes of shock cavalry but unlike more modern TW games you dont want them constantly running everywhere so setup is vital. Id probably run a good portion of Katana Samurai in the earlygame/midgame (about 6) then about 3-4 No-dachis. Which you need, along with a small requirement (Occupy Elven colonies for the Sea patrol) to force confederations.Tyrion's unique mechanic is that he can spend influence for military or political actions, basically with yuan bo has as well. To afford this Tyrion's faction now gets influence from winning battles (And gets double influence for winning battles on Ulthuan)
