The story feels chopped in places, like they wanted to do more with character interactions but took them out for some reason. And your choices have no story consequences. Still, if you pick it up on sale for $20 it's worth the time you'll put into it.

If you really like the setting for its own sake I'd say it is pretty worth it; if you're not that into the Harry Potter theming though it's just okay (in which case, wait for a good sale). Story is alright with some parts pretty good; combat is mostly pretty easy aside from the occasional troll (which also isn't bad if you're good at dodge timings; I'm not though) but spell combos are fun. Hogwarts itself and Hogsmeade are really nicely put together, and the rest of the world is also quite well made aside from a bit of the shallowness typical of a lot of open world games (still very pretty though).As for why there aren't a lot of mods for it, on release it was quite difficult to make mods for, and then by the time dedicated modding tools released a year later most people had just played and finished the game and then moved on. Also the new modding system broke most mods that were made before it (easy to fix but only if the mod author is still around) so that didn't help. after finishing the pc trilogy I gotta say, PoA is particularly sad. from 1 to 2 you can tell the devs had a really good grasp on their formula and just built on everything in the first game and smoothed out all the rough edges... then you get to PoA and you can tell EA was messing with their development hard. They had all these good ideas, all had solid execution, but none of them had the time to shine or be fleshed out nearly as much as the previous games concepts. They didn't even finish animations for the characters. It just feels painfully rushed. It's filled with loads of great ideas and none of them had any time to come into their own, but oh well. Is it worth it to mod Hogwarts Legacy? I bought the game on sale some time ago, and just booted it up today. The first hour or two was awesome, but now I'm in the castle and forced to go to classes and whatnot, and I'm appalled at the number of nogs and jeets. Half of the kids in the school are nogs, and then you're immediately forced to do a lesson with an actual fucking african bitch. I had no idea it was this pozzed. Can't even enjoy a franchise from my childhood without getting raped by zog.

Despite Lottie being a fairly bland character, I'm surprised by how well she's written. A lot of characters whose only personality trait is being kind or sweet can come off as sociopathic or fake, but Lottie doesn’t feel like that at all.
