I don't really follow the King/Queen of /v/ drama. Frankly I only know Tron from the MvC games and I haven't played Disgaea. Etna probably should have won though, there have been Disgaea threads on this site for as long as it's been around and Tron has the Darkstalkers problem of people just knowing her from spinoffs and fanart and never actually playing her games. I think I'm burned out of Digimon Time Stranger. I'm in the second half of the game where you have to revisit every location post-timeskip and the story has started doing the "Bad Ending Time Rewinds" that everyone hated in Trails through Daybreak 2. Except Digimon actually does them WORSE because you quite literally have to backtrack through each area multiple times for no reason. I'm in the forest area and after the game sent me back to the beginning of the dungeon AGAIN I just quit. The combat is not good enough to justify running through the same dungeon/enemy groups a third or fourth time, and I say this as someone who actually likes turn based JRPG combat, I'm not Nepbro lol. Another thing I dislike about the game is the story-gates for digi-volving, like I have the stats and requirements to evolve but the game just goes "Nah bro you ain't far enough in the story! No Omnimon for you!" Like fuck off, imagine if evolution was locked behind gym badges in Pokemon and you had to wait until endgame to get a Charizard or whatever. The game has a very strong start but holy shit does it waste your time as it goes on. I say this with no irony whatsoever, but yes Pokemon Legends Z-A is 100% a more FUN video game than Digimon Time Stranger despite the huge gulf in presentation difference and technical fidelity.

If all enemy HP was cut in half the game would have so much better pacing. That's why I hated doing the dungeons multiple times, because the core combat doesn't make that a fun experience. Meanwhile in Pokemon Z-A I was actively HUNTING consecutive battles simply because they were so smooth and well paced, and the night-time battle royales incentivised this. That's good game design and I don't care how many polygons the balconies have or whatever.
