Honestly, I kinda feel like the updated melee and casting animations were a big mistake. Every race I play feel kind of the same since 90% of your main attacks use the universal class- instead of race specific combat animations that you can clearly see wasn't even designed for most models in the game so they look stupid asf. I legitimately prefer the pre-legion combat animations instead of these goofy bouncy Disney rubbery animations. Even playing the same class on different races used to feel fun and refreshing since all the animations were unique to the race.

I remember on mythic argus being able to just kinda do my own thing on p1 because the big aoe slash would never target me on account of being both melee and a healer. Raid mommy even got mad at me and kicked me from the raid before i explained it to her. The downside was that sometimes i categorically had to be melee because some mechanics would target only me but none of the other healers. Maybe this is an easy problem to circumvent and I'm wrong

It's fantasy, you can literally do anything you want with them. But somehow modern Blizzard writers are quite literally incapable of doing this, probably because none of them have any real world life experience whatsoever. It's no longer about fantasy and escapism, it's all about diversity and representation. If modern Blizzard suddenly decided they wanted to write Native Americans into the game, they would forgo the obvious use of Tauren, and instead decide to create an entirely new sub-species of humans that they could use as their pilot instead. This is how they think and operate. If it's not representing a real life group of underrepresented people (even though they're the same people that say representing them is racist so we need to remove them from football teams and boxes of butter), then they're not interested.
