That's one reason I slightly regret installing that pirated* copy ages ago. They just immediately start fucking your ass with massive fleets and even with a relatively rock and roll ship you don't stand a chance. I had hoped they'd only ramp that up once you've got a fleet of pals but no luck

I don't see this happening. This made sense in Fallout 4 because Fallout 4 is a post-apoc setting where people ARE savaging the ruins of the old world for supplies/materials. But that isn't a thing in Starfield's setting. No one is raiding old military bases for binders to get plastic due to a plastic shortage or w/e.

I also don't see this happening for similar reasons. Fallout 4's settlement system made sense because its a post-apoc setting, and random people are just making settlements out in the middle of nowhere.In Starfield's setting you have the UC, Freestar, and LIST, as governments/organizations to help people with this. No one is going to go live at random mc-bum-fuck's Outpost on an airless moon when they just live on New Atlantis. Even if they wanted to live there they'd do through LIST.

This isn't the solution people think it is. As is Starfield has like 150+ base POIs, and, when counting all the variants of POIs, something like 265+ POIs. There's nearly as many POIs in Starfield as there were locations in base Fallout 4. If you count all the "placed once" locations like New Atlantis, the game has more locations then Fo4 had with all of its DLC.

Even if they tossed in like 100 new POIs/POI variants it wouldn't solve the issue people are having, even though adding in 100+ POIs would be something they'd probably have to charge for as a DLC. They'd probably get more mileage out of adjusting the POI spawn mechanics to make many of the already existing POIs more common.

LIST faction questline.
Its kneecapped by the stupid armistice or whatever that said the two governments couldn't expand, but that can be written around. But yeah, these locations should have vital resources that justify building there. I imagine having sites like the ones in Fallout 4 where its basically a large set piece you can build on. Imagine LIST sending you to a nice lakeside spot (water, vegetation) or a canyon with caves full of ore (mining town) and asking you to build an outpost fit for that purpose.

I read a post from ItsmePaulieB that combining some of these unmarked location mods like Tiny Reasons to Explore ones with his can lead to planets getting pretty crowded with stuff since they generate outside of the normal POI system, but the good news is that all of them give you settings to customize how often you come across them. From what I've seen so far, we actually do have the means of replacing existing Starfield animation files with custom animations made through something like Blender, we just don't have much of a means of injecting new animations into the game yet. This is dumb. There should be a quest to get in contact with certain people in the underworld and gain their trust first before you could have them make you forged papers or something. Might also add the chance for those to fail checks in certain situations. And another more reliable but harder way to personally launder stuff through gov't officials after you get in contact with them during higher level quests.

Would generally be a good idea to have at least a knife on you just to defend yourself if you run out of ammo, because if we're talking about realism, you should have a hard limit on how much ammo you can carry and so should your enemies. The Salem quest was going to involve "witches" who would use "magic"(which was actually just radiation bullshit) but it got removed becuase they realized the magic system had already been cut from Fallout 4's version of the Creation Engine. The player was never meant to get :magic" themselves.

The requested animation framework would likely require either a script extender implementation or reverse engineering the game enough to make a whole engine injection tool similar to Skyrim's FNIS/Nemesis/Pandora, so it's very unlikely that they could put it up on Creations. For now, NAF allows for injecting animations from a stationary poser standpoint, but it will likely take a few more years to develop a tool that could actually add new combat behaviors.

The game technically has radio, but the technology is not advanced to let it be played beyond the major settlements. What Bethesda should do is make the CD players you find usable and let you find CDs to play in it lying around in POIs. As for the type of music, game feels like it leans towards a late 20th century feel, so it should at least feature songs from the 90s and prior. Maybe a heavy focus on Electronic, Punk Rock, Eurodance, Country and maybe R&B.

Starfield by default is sort of like a hybrid experience anyways, like most of it is grounded while only a small percentage actually delves into fantasy that at the very least doesn't really touch the world all that much. If they were to add more Starborn content, it will likely either be isolated to it's own pocket of the galaxy much like Va'ruun'kai, or just have it's events happen away from prying eyes since the Starborn don't really want to make their presence known to normal people who aren't actively meddling in their affairs.
