I don't really think I'd get a serious reply here but honestly debating on it pretty hard since BF is almost here.Is Bravely Default HD Remaster that much better than BD 3DS? I hate emulating 3ds based games and I was thinking about getting a Switch 2 for Monolith(hard) games and maybe some (chocolate)ware games. But if I BD 3ds really plays okay on emulation, I don't really see a point. I hate having to switch emulate for the other games. The only other use case I'd have is to use it as a living room gaming console for guests so we don't hunch around my desk to play games.

I don't like Hard being locked behind New Game+ rather than being a separate option from the beginning that just retunes the game. I don't like this about XVI or VIIR. I don't think Hard should be locked behind completing the game. If I want to choose Hard options for heightened enemy aggression, I should be able to choose that. It shouldn't be locked around New Game+. Those game designs should be distinct things rather than tied together. Ideally there shouldn't be any 'difficulty' options at all, the game should just be challenging and rewarding innately. If you need to have them, there should be sliders where you can adjust each option individually based on player accessibility. ATB speed, player damage, CPU damage, enemy damage, health item strength, Gil from battles, enemy speed, etc etc.Either design the game the way it should be without any difficulty options in the menu, where you have to make the game easier for yourself by getting stronger, playing better, and learning tricks, or you open the options fully to allow for the player to fine tune the difficulty in whatever way they see fit.

I played many Final Fantasy games on Hard or using challenging mods. Vanilla XVI's FF mode is one of the easiest in the series, sometimes even easier than some FF's "normal"/vanilla modes. The same can't be said about Ultimaniac.Ultimaniac is the only mode that unlocks hidden potential of XVI's combat system.
