Im gonna say this about the people of destiny: you aren't losing your skill even if you are growing older, you are actually just getting filtered by mechanics because they are slowly becoming more mmo like. I wouldn't be surprised if one day bungie just decides to make a mmo boss where there is no invuln phase but it has a shitload of mechanics that you have to avoid while damaging the boss until it dies. A great example of this is people getting filtered by the omega crossover in wilds from ff14. In reality its a easy mmo boss but people are to retarded to understand basic mmo mechanics. The witness is another great example in d2 where the boss requires you to move around while damaging it. Most people can't actually move and shoot and thats mainly because of well meta but also just because every boss in this game can be destroyed while not moving around.

Is the modifier Brawn the key to balancing PVE activities going forward? After The Nether and my own messing around with it in EOF I've found the modifier lends a sense of high risk and reward to spice up encounters. It appears we're getting another major activity with Brawn or Nether rules with renegades. Me I added this to my solo runs of the coil during call to arms and man it was pretty fun. I was going to do the same with challenge of the elders but I really haven't had a chance to dial in the difficulty for that to my taste yet. The Dread need to chill. It's fun tho. And those seasonal stories aren't minor either, Shadowkeep and Beyond Light introduced a fair amount of new and returning characters in them and the seasonal storylines would often be the connective tissue from one expansion to the next. So if you missed out on every single year then that's it, you are SoL and will be jumping from story to story with so much missing context. The shooting is enjoyable and the game generally improved since vanilla D2 outside of the recent buggy content launches, but so many new mechanics and overhauls are there that I can't imagine a casual player wouldn't be immediately overwhelmed.
