You come flying out into this old dilapidated temple, and then shoot out into the forest where Silken Lake is there and the town is right next to you, you can see the old buildings of the Dream Warehouse. It's got this quiet fantasy feeling to it and it doesn't overwhelm you all at once.Meanwhile in Itzaland you're immediately in the middle of a town of mushroom people and giant snails. It's fun but it's not quite the same.

Especially with how much health the new enemies have, getting a huge group of them and scribbling until they're all dead is very satisfying. Thankfully the magnet ability tends to obliterate stuff even more quickly, but you need to get bow energy first, which is pretty lame. Also, what's the easiest way to change out of the enhanced form? Click+Q seems to work, but it also sometimes consumes bow energy for that worthless heal, which is a waste.

As in, 1.x Nikki was constantly going to all kinds of random, unrelated festivals and such because there was nothing more for the main story to do. Eerie Season explained what a portion of the map was about, and Encore Season did some setup for 2.0, but that was it. Even if the Crying Season or whatever it was went into the history and lore, the main story sat still. After 2.0, though, we still have major story-related stuff to properly explore. I don't really play many live service games, so my only point of comparison is FFXIV. That game very explicitly has a climax at the end of x.0 of each expansion, but leaves unresolved issues that get explored in x.1 and x.2, and then ultimately resolved in x.3. Then they use x.4 and x.5 to set up for the next expansion.
