This is even more obvious because the thumbnail for the 0.3.1 preview had and has "TOWERS GONE!" in big text; it was a direct response to streamers saying HURR TOWERS BAD because those streamers of course either didn't understand or didn't tell their braindead audience what the actual problems with the tower system were. What caused people to shit on towers was having to path awkwardly between them to try to stack juice on specific nodes, but this isn't an intrinsic flaw with the system, it's one specific issue that both GGG and niggerstreamers failed to comprehend. Instead it's just TOWER BAD REMOVE TOWER and so they blindly gut towers and now the whole endgame is butchered. That's not even getting into the other fuckups in 0.3.1, like adding bosses on every map (cool and good) but also removing the always-on rare radar without doing anything to disincentivize rarehunting, so you're back to either trawling over the map or killing everything to get the enemy count low enough for skulls because most decent drops still come from rares. Sanctum's popularity skyrocketed after 0.3.1 solely because it made mapping even more tedious and even less rewarding.I'm expecting something more thought out in 0.4 but if it stays as it is I'm probably not going to play half as long as I usually do

In 1 you can encounter mechanics in maps without speccing into them, but so much power comes from scarabs and the tree that they're almost never worth doing. If you're fully built into Harvest or Delirium, then you might still run into a strongbox or Abyss crack every so often, but your odds of getting anything useful from them are minimal compared to the things you're built into. 2 was not like this before.

I've been playing poe2 and wow the passive tree is much better in poe1.Its not just whats on it, but how its laid out. Poe1 you can path through useful nodes, in poe2 it seems you have to path through highways to get anyway.
