I would have never thought this armor will last this long. These type of universally useful items seldom leave my field containers. I had platforms I wasn't able to reach even with 21 STR but the 1.5m extra Jump from the clothing provided just enough to make it without wasting scrolls or spell slots. Other times the +2 DEX and the Advantage on such checks came handy when we had to sneak around and there was a weak link in the party. I was curious how the game handles the known NPC routine in an open space. The closest I got to justifying it is that the Durge suppose to be silver-tongued and somewhat eloquent (or something along these lines; again, just from what I gathered and it's been a while) so you can argue being a Bard and hiding in plain sight by performing and mingling while secretly catching bodies on the side is a somewhat believable concept. It also checks the CHA class box. Following this path Sorcerer compliments the raw, naturalistic talent thematic and offers a powerful arsenal (you can even have a dagger equipped as a stat stick instead of a staff if you want to go all-in without hurting your efficiency that much), so ultimately I was eyeing with a Bard-Sorc multi-class for the default white Dragonborn. Not as sneaky nor alpha-strike centered as the alternatives but it has (magical) tools to work there too.
Is arcane trickster rogue any good? I don't want to change too much but I just realized Astarion is one and I want to have him in my party. It seems kind of shit but what do I know.

In the grand scheme of things it's a fine and viable option that gets interesting too late. Forget casting anything other than self-buffs until Magical Ambush (level 9). After that you can be a pretty decent pseudo-caster as long as you stack some Spell DC gear and have an ample supply of scrolls. Keep in mind Astarion will use INT for spellcasting, so getting that 17 INT headband from the Ogres in Act 1 is highly recommended. Personally I don't regret of not respeccing him though I only used him for his unique content. Whenever he was in the party he was also able to pull his weight as an Arcane Trickster. Nothing more but nothing less either.

Besides not all dialogues are the same with origin characters as it is with Tav/Durge.
