Pokemon Anime and Fairly Oddparents both carry the concept of a main character who regularly saves the day but is NOT a "Hero" in the traditional sense but someone who happens to be good and constantly finds themselves in situations where they have to save the day. Timmy is obviously much more of a straight Antihero in this sense. But Neither Ash or Timmy make it their mission to go around saving people for the sake of justice or stopping the crimes of the world. They happen upon them. Team Rocket is still an active organization and Ash does not care as long as they aren't doing anything near him. Both of these characters have saved the world hundreds of times but neither are "heroes". If you're writing Sonic it's good to compare protagonists such as these to actual superheroes.

Hell, if I can compliment the comics on one thing, the changes made to Sonic's character in Archie and IDW at least justify this. I do not like it whenever we have to just run with something from a character bio that isn't well established in the games.
