It was just so cost efficient and good enough to get shit done. Usually find better gear in raid to use anyways.

It was very nitpicky though I remember, like down to what you have in your secure container, pockets, etc. So keep it as basic as possible before saving it, then add to it after equipping. For my poorfag, I usually got everything for cheap off the flea but fence may be an alright alternative if you don't have the ability to buy them from traders - you'll probably have to repair it though so check the condition before buying. Or, of course, just bring shit from scaving to repair. Avoid the UN armor though, that vest just sucks because of the movement speed.

The only enjoyable maps to me are customs and woods. I find you usually get an interesting run there and most of my best firefights are on that map. Streets used to be good until they nerfed all the loot so there's no point running it for the risk/reward ratio. Ground zero is too linear so someone can sit on one part of the map and just stop you from moving entirely. Shoreline is just impossible and based off spawns. Lighthouse similar to shoreline you just need a good spawn or die. Interchange has bad spawns AND a ton of rat spots in and outside of the mall. Factory you just get ran over by squads if they queue there. Reserve used to be fun until they made it underground only basically, and you need a good spawn for that too. Reserve can still be fun though probably the closest to customs and woods for interesting raids. Labs is just too tryhard/cheaty for me to enjoy. Was hoping terminal would be another fun map but nah they just made it PvE only for some reason.
