Finally got all the Super Rush costumes/colors in time for Christmas. Here we have the last part of the sketch page of Reclusa and it’s the most gut-wrenching scene in the whole game. Despite Reclusa’s heinous actions, I still can’t help sobbing whenever I see this scene or even just hear the pensive music that plays whenever he dies since the guy was VERY deep down extremely lonely and didn’t know how to get anyone to pay attention to him except to make himself as hateable to everyone as possible, you can tell that with his incredibly messed up relationship with Mario and Luigi where he desperately wants them to stay and gets the Toads to cry about how lonely they’ll be if they leave plus I think the final words said to him by Connie were incredibly harsh “No, you lost. You lost to everyone’s bonds. Forcing solitude on everyone is beyond selfish. Now, it’s time for you to disappear! There’s no place here for you”. Even though he probably deserved it, that’s got to be the coldest line I’ve ever heard said to a villain in a game. So in this version of my story he gets repaired and Reclusa gains his first “blasted bond”, realising that not everyone hated him. Obviously not everyone will understand and what he did was deplorable but I think if Zokket could get off scot free then Reclusa should have at least have been put in a solitude dimension that at first he thinks is wonderful but then he realises he can’t taunt people anymore when he’s TRULY on his own and gets guidance. In the end in the game he in a twisted way got what he wanted by disappearing whilst well and truly alone but it is honestly the saddest villain death I’ve ever seen, no matter how many times I see it, it makes me cry especially because despite his stubborn nature no characters really attempted to bond with him at the end or even understand his point of view where he goes on about being hurt by people. There is truth in a lot of the things he says which is what makes him such a conflicting villain.

If a character is gonna be wearing a mask all the time it pays off to give them eyeballs that can look around and dilate their pupils and other shit that helps them emote even when the mouth is covered. Junior doesn't need eyes like that in the games since he just alternates between >:) and <:( faces while jumping around and he doesn't talk much but as the main villain of a movie it makes sense to go for something more expressive.I won't defend Peach's mouth nor her absurd giant head, but I think that the changes to Junior are all clearlly purposeful. It's the same reason they gave Bowser himself a more articulated lion-esque mouth.
