Just a small personal note that doesn't really have anything to do with story telling quality. In the 2000s Sonic games it was exceptionally rare to see more than three "Sonic Characters" in a single cutscene. This was probably more to do with the way the storys are told or just the upper limit of what Sonic Team was willing to animate. I've been trying to study how Sonic games are written and this stuck out to me. You only see larger groups when the game is nearing its end. Most of the time they are barely around each other. If you see a group of 4 or more that means something very important is happening. It gives them a very isolated feel. It is sort of nostalgic, but also very strange.

Blaze, Silver, Shadow, and knuckles are and should be equal to sonic in some way.Good rival isn't supposed to be drastically weaker.Silver and Blaze both suffer from a lack of games where they're a focus making them feel like a leech, it would be best if they got less cameos and only show up when they are actually needed or get spin offs as I think they have settings with a lot of potential.Silver is just an expansion on Sonic's world, and blaze is a completely new world yet to be fully explored.I don't know if knuckles has a lot offer for a spin off but he should get one because I love him. Knuckles should also get at least 9 movies too.
