I left my rock and I finally got to Edgers campaign now that it’s free week and my autistic ass caved even though I got to 550 , mostly pvp and conquests sorta in the background, the hate isn’t unwarranted but I feel like if the location was different, no gimmick shit, there could’ve been a better campaign. Weirdly it sorta tries to onboard people to get them in habit of running mechanics for the puzzling but obviously it comes at an annoyance to everybody where nobody wants to be gated every step of the way. Also the excuses to exposition dump on busywork filler shit between campaign missions was kind of annoying. Story I thought I would hate more, I don’t mind Lodi especially for a new character but the crap with “the nine are 100 steps ahead” and now suddenly know everything, know paracausal as we know it, just completely stupid. Destiny 2 arching narratives are caught between Ikora Wank, Zavala humiliation, and refusing to craft outright evil villains (looking at you Eramis). Nevermind all the gay stuff but thankfully that writer moved on to Cyberpunk lmao. Renegades actually seems alright because there’s a cool looking villain and gameplay. It’s a somewhat simple formula that was somehow lost after Red War.
I feel like shitting purely on Lightfalls story is a scapegoat for much bigger problems that existed in that dlc and the game overall.
