Focusing on open-ended sandbox gameplay features rather than a linear story.""Be a trader, a thief, a rebel, a warlord, an adventurer, a farmer, a slave, or just food for the cannibals. Research new equipment and craft new gear."https://store.steampowered.com/app/233860/Kenshi/https://www.gog.com/game/kenshi>Demo Linkhttps://lofigames.com/>Tips for beginnersLearn to pick your fights, don't hesitate to run away and don't reload unless you die, any fight you survive makes you stronger. Building an outpost will attract trader caravans and hostile raids. Building one too early might be more than you can handle. Pressing F1 will open the tutorial screen. Mousing over the stats screen and HUD will reveal useful tooltips and additional info. If the enemies feel too difficult - get crossbows for your units. And don't be afraid of the RP autism - engage in it whenever you can. And do unlock the sliders.>https://pastebin.com/zw9fCJdC>Some modshttps://mega.nz/folder/x4d1SLwZ#i09S39AoukUkqYLtHaTWTg>AND a link to the giga muscle-girl modhttps://mega.nz/folder/6ZBmADJK#8uL2GFZYoLgdS6kBV0DJfA>Some moonrune mod archive on the LL Kenshi threadhttps://ux.getuploader.com/hentaibutayarou/index/date/desc/1>LL modding threadhttps://www.loverslab.com/topic/87203-kenshi/>post with jonijonikenshi mods (like milking mod) after he deleted it allhttps://www.loverslab.com/topic/87203-kenshi/page/48/#comment-4050418>LL mod indexhttps://www.loverslab.com/topic/172556-kenshi-mod-index/#comment-3450198>Kenshi Fuck Modhttps://www.loverslab.com/files/file/24433-kenshi-fuck-mod/>The package of optimization mods from Nexushttps://mega.nz/folder/XhERDCRI#37kPAWeA_LKfPTO-qiaY1Q

>>549288162https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z4fKe_EGw7kThat was specifically in reference to the mid-late crisis cascade brought on by what is most likely the HN (or occupying imperials) taking the sword to the West. Upon the death of the Western Queen or as the conflict reaches a clear "the queen is doomed" situation - the Southern Hive will finally activate and pour across the island. The notion the Hives are weak is a strategic positioning the West adopted to survive. If that fall apart it signals to the South that there's no time for caution. Their defensive posture is intended to give them time to expand their base of control (throughout the Southeast) without stirring enmity towards the empire, of which, the West interfaces with on a regular basis. The death of the West's Queen means the caravans traversing the empire instantly are beset with the emergency pheromone response and so too will the South recognize the change in the air. What comes then is a steamrolling over the regions between themselves and the former domain of the West. Whatever destroyed the West must face the same.

Shek gamer here. Do you guys like going full on for one race only or have a hodge podge of other races in your teams?

Does anyone else feel there's a lack of suitable enemies to XP grind between 40-60 stats? Like you can only go straight from dust bandits to beak things.Either you suffah hunting down bandit camps or get instantly steamrolled thinking you can handle 6 beaks with 10 party members
>>549417981There's a mod that makes it where you can still get XP from weaklings. Ranging from guys 100 levels below you, 50 levels below you, and 30 levels below you. It is on the Gaben Shop.
>>549417981Buddy, the game is over at 60 stats. There is no game after that. 80% of players say fuck it, go on a thunking spree, wipe out the majors and call it a day after a certain point. If you want to optimize to death a puddle's worth of content & systems, go ahead.

This resulted in GPU PhysX options to be processed by the CPU, causing a degradation in performance, in titles such as Mirror's Edge and Borderlands 2.The middleware which was supposedly in part responsible for "Kenshi being impossible to open source due to legality issues" has been open sourced for 3+ years. In reality, the legality holdups are solely imposed by LoFi Game's own copyright imposition. The standard other deflection to "engine limitations" more correctly translates to "developer unwillingness to update their own codebase". OGRE has been multithreaded since 2.0 - https://ogrecave.github.io/ogre-next/api/2.2/threading.html - LoFi Games and the archaic codebase are the issue, not OGRE, which is still updated to this day.Blind leading the blind. >>549423149Most games that involve stat grinding, are generally played by leaning hard on one type of ability until you can force the enemy to play on your court. People pick one pokemon and train it to be a monster.

any good standout mods in the last few months? time for a new playthrough
>>549448568No, but I don't think it would be very hard to make a mod like that. The way Kenshi's level curve works is that stats closer to 0 levels very quickly while stats closer to 100 level very slowly, I don't use the FCS much myself but it probably can be tweaked to cap at 20 instead. There are already mods that change exp gain.

>>549463520Stumpy splintered off from the group and found another holy figurehead with a bounty. Maybe this will reduce the patrols a bit more.
>>549464169Gut is absolutely legit and a perfect staging base for going against United Cities. Great fertility, great iron resources, okay copper. Lots of beak things, which is a double edged sword. Natural base defense, lots of potential meat and leather. On the other hand, dangerous, as they roam in rather large groups there.
>>549426194>FTLAh. Good times.
Am I inadvertently doing something that is offending the Shek, or do they gradually fall out of love with me as time passes? I would think that overthrowing the holy nation would hold their gratitude for longer.
what a bunch of basket cases>>549483091Are your relations going down with them?
>>549483893It gradually goes down. It was 100 when I started bringing in the big bounties. I don't rob or attack the shek.
>>549484002Do you have a mod that could, theoretically, gradually reduce relations over time?
>>549485054Nothing that advertised itself as such, and I think it was doing this before I started installing mods anyhow. I have a building in Squin, and I wonder if my characters are bothering the locals. I know they will sometimes do automatic things, like going into buildings and sleeping in random beds. Maybe when I'm not looking, they're knocking down doors or something?
>>549485468I can't even think of an assigned job that would cause relations loss in general, unless they're straight up hostile to your people there for some reason.
>>549486562If I was in a fight with an enemy, and the enemy wasn't part of the shek kingdom, but was part of the shek race, would the shek kingdom be mad about it?
>>549499352No, because a portion of United Cities (their enemies) and Dust Bandits include Shek as part of their demographic. I've played a lot of Kenshi, I have never once heard of an instance of relations with a faction naturally lowering. Are you absolutely certain that it isn't a mod, or you killed a Shek flagged with "Shek Kingdom"?
>>549499912I know I didn't kill a Shek. If it's in a mod, it would have to be in some fine print, because I know I didn't download anything that was advertised as being designed to ruin relationships.
Sure is quiet around here.
If someone raids your base, do they loot you, or just murder and leave?
>>549534034Handles

>>549566036Another fort with a holy dude. Hopefully fogmen won't move in, but I guess I know how to deal with that if they do.
>>549567982Yeah, fogmen took it over.
>>549570405And now it's Flotsom, and that is fine.
>>549572168Fogmen still control the nearby holy mine. The slaves aren't there anymore... Oops.
>>549572750Nearest thing I'm finding to a big wig in this place. Hopefully taking his head will be enough to get rid of them here.
>>549573349And still controlled by fogmen... I don't know where their next big leader is, but I guess finding him would push their boundary back.
>>549575313>>549573349Scouted into the fog, but just not seeing the kind of leader that I had found at the bases. Beheaded a regular fog prince, but i don't expect anything to result from it. Sent Stumpy and Slink to a place on the map that looked different, and it appears to be some kind of derelict mining facility. Almost weird how sparce the fogmen have been since I sent them into the fog. I expected a huge horde, or a capital or something. Maybe it's still out there someplace.
>>549577759"What... the..."They took the words from out of my mouth. Game called the area "Obedience".Some kind of graveyard of giant robots?
>>549578113And of course, and hidden lab. I'll have to remember to bring them back with luggage and a shopping list. Haven't seen a fogman in a while now.
>>549578621Took the heads of 4 fog prince and sold them in mongrel, followed by a friendly visit to their robot shop. Then sent Stumpy to the swamp to see if they might have some of those metal hats that the Black Dragon Ninja used to wear. It seems as though the special named NPC aren't all that different compared to finding random NPCs that were generated. At least in the sense that their stats are lacking no matter what. The extra dialog lines at least are a nicety.

I wish Grass Pirates were zombies or broken robots or somethingThey're suicidally aggressive and spawn constantly around my base. Great for training but I've killed so many that it's starting to break my suspension of disbelief.
>>549673540Find a way to ally with them, so their constant presence is a form of defense?
>>549673808Well no, I like killing them because they're fantastic to train my weaker recruits, it's just that they're effectively an endless horde of humans dying at my doorstep. Practically fogmen, it's like I'm in the Shrieking Forest except it doesn't break my game.
At work I day dream about Kenshi. I get home and I am too tired to play Kenshi. I hate my wagecuck life.
If I see a marching platoon of some type, do they have a normal fixed route, or do they just path around randomly? So here is the experimental scheme I'm hatching, which maybe others have done before anyhow...I was thinking of farming on borrowed land with their own plots and wells, and mining out in the middle of nowhere, and then carting the raw material back to a city building for all processing. No fixed base to be raided. If i chain a bunch of instructions together, the characters should do it, but I know the instructions start to fail if the distance gets too far. So that's where the platoon comes in. If I put a lowest level task to follow someone, than when they finish with their work in one location, they should track to the platoon. Then when the platoon wanders near the other tasks, the character jumps out and gets back to their chore list. Kinda like getting on and off a bus.
Would Kenshi be good if it had more supernatural elements?
>>549685942If it had some kind of balance. Slow moving fireball attack? Magic-healing really just averages the damage stats of all of the target's body-parts, and costs the caster 5% of their blood. Maybe some necromancy to bring back dead teammates, but caster gave them half their remaining hitpoints while doing it.Necromancy some dead enemies to act as zombie bodyguards, but caster gave them half their remaining hitpoints while doing it.Lopped limbs re-attached with magic but have a constant slow-decay so you have to constantly heal them.
>>549675831I think they just kinda spawn in and out nearby you and wander in circles
>>549685942Skills extended beyond 100 start to manifest DBZ abilities?
>>549688836In that case the idea might be a bit doomed. I'm pretty sure that they wouldn't despawn, if I sacrificed a character to just always be following them around. I could conceivably train a medic that way. But even then, I need them to path out to the place i want to harvest, and then also return back to the same city. if they don't travel such a path, the idea of following them is just DOA.I could still maybe do my remote harvesting without following a legion, if there were harvesting places in the middle that I could chain along. My characters could follow each other from one place to the next, as long as each jump wasn't too far from the last. I know it is the least efficient way to farm and mine, but I kinda like the idea of doing something cheesy, and they kinda need the strength and athletics exercise anyhow.
What if you could install left and right limbs in the wrong spot, but it meant a small stat de-buff on the limb when doing it? There might be a situation where you just weren't finding the right leg you want, so you could settle for something that was almost right.
>>549685942No.
>>549689657Why not have them on "follow" at the lowest order with the target being any persistent NPC that doesn't sleep? Maybe a hireable companion in the local bar. The follow order seems to work well at any distance.
>>549691253The harvester that was nearest to the city absolutely could do that, but they probably wouldn't need to if they are still in chore range. If i had a setup like:City ------- Iron ------ Copper ------ Farm. Each some distance away from the next, but none at an impossible range from the prior in the chain. iron is near enough to chore to the city without help, so that kinda has to be minimum for the whole thing to work. I can have them return to the city by following someone, but getting them out to the iron mine would take some extra. Either they are near enough to the city to both go to work and return from work, or they have to follow some NPC that is in the middle, near enough to both ends of the jobs. For copper. a city NPC would return them from the Copper mine, but I would need someone that was away from the city to get them out to the mine again to resume work. If the Iron mine was near enough to the copper mine, they could potentially follow an iron worker out and then resume copper work. The farm would be further away still, so they would conceivably follow a copper worker around as their lowest level.
Oh no my group's gotten too large and unmanageable and I wish things were simple again just traveling the land by myself or with 2 companions tops.
>>549699165Nothing a quick trip to the Skinhouse can't fix.
>>549699165Load their inventory with weight, and check them in to rebirth. The place will keep them fed and busy.
>>549689657The other anon is wrong. They do not: >spawn in and outThey>spawn in and abide by their AI, wherever it leads them and as long as you remain in the current chunk they will not/should not despawn and be replaced - they are packed into your save file and can be foundMore importantly - you cannot rely upon squads to necessarily guide you to where you want unless you've specifically tinkered with their package scheduling. Yes, you can setup what you want in some form, which is a squad that basically comes and goes from a town on a daily basis? Sure, if you generously pad the "go home and go to sleep" with the patrolling it might work. Problem instantly arises with you can't necessarily force the patrol to head towards your operations unless you also have a single route directly in line with their guaranteed path. Asking a touch too much for the tooling & access we have.
>>549712329If their paths are random, then yeah, my idea is broken from the start. If they had a regular destination and then regular return, I figured i would follow them and see what resources happened to already be on their route.

>page 10Sure is quiet on /keng/ right now.
>>549673540This is why I like the Crab Raiders. If their raid fails, they don't just suicidally keep attacking until they're all dead over and over. They stand up, help each other, and retreat, carrying the ones that can't walk. Grass pirates do try to heal each other, but then it's back to attacking the 16-wheeler that just demolished their entire raiding party. They'll even attack barehanded, or in chains if they're enslaved. Don't even escape if you free them. In short, they're lemmings, and they're too fucking stupid to have the numbers they do.
>>549745765This reminds me of the other day. I came across... I think it was a Berserker... and she was being gang-banged by a herd of bulls. Relations with that faction were neutral, so I thought i would score brownie points but running up to apply first aid while she was playing dead. She immediately got back up and started attacking the bulls again.
The Holy Nation are true assholes among assholes, but when you look at some of the scary shit in the world... maybe some of their phobias are rational.
>>549749051Okay but she's a berserker, it's in the name.
>>549751025Some? They are right about everything, lore wise. If Nat didn't insist on making them behave cartoonishly retarded and evil for the sake of her 3rd wave idiocy - they'd be everyone's favorite faction.
>>549751790>right about everythingExcept when it comes to how to survive into the future. The Okrankite religion is rotting out and the Guild are two steps away from driving the dagger in deep enough for it to be fatal. They're meant to be washed away by the rising merchant bankers who have been working since the days of the Red Rebellion to overturn the status quo. The current Holy regime is a cat chasing lasers - wholly guided by the baits being presented to them. Pointless warfare leads to resource and manpower exhaustion, compounded then by the real potential for overextension and multiple fronts opening up with multiple hostile actors involved. It amounts to what Yamdu articulates, such that with a helpful push the wavering Okranites could be turned into an enslaved populace by shifting a few pins into place, then the river valley is firmly in the nobility's hands.
>>549752961Yes, their reaction is wrong, but their collective memory is right. As for the TG - I am surprised (and disappointed) it's impossible to tell to the priests behind Phoenix about how the TG planned to get the power out from their (priests') hands. I hate the skeletons.
>>549782532Here are five fun reasons to love Skeletons:1. They’re immortal (mostly).Skeletons don’t age, don’t starve, don’t sleep, and never complain. They’re the ultimate low-maintenance companions.2. Deadpan humor with actual dead pans.Skeletons have some of the funniest, driest dialogue in the game—equal parts existential dread and sarcastic wit.3. They’re walking relics of a forgotten age.Every Skeleton carries thousands of years of hidden history, lost technology, and cryptic hints about Kenshi’s ancient world.4. Ridiculously tough survivors. They can fight through injuries that would kill any flesh-being, keep going without medical supplies, and make amazing frontline warriors or scouts.5. Surprisingly wholesome personalities.Despite being metal murder machines, many Skeletons are oddly sweet—loyal, curious, philosophical, and sometimes just trying to understand what “friendship” even means.
The hunter shack life is underrated.
