I really don't think the ideal deck design of this game ending up on just copying whatever loop/exploit some people found to be working. As a dev I would found a way to decrease copy events even more than before, or put up restrictions to it. We may be seeing a lot of UNIQUE cards in new characters, as well as retooled rules for future new seasons. We are, after all, playing a beta of sorts for future card design.

Agony as a debuff is just the way DoT characters do damage. There's another damage debuff called Shock which is basically agony but it procs when you hit the enemy with an attack rather than at turn end, Euphina's leaked kit was focused on it. I doubt they're going to broadly invalidate any debuff focused character like that.
