Archie was OOC. Archie was always OOC. If the freedom fighters magically appeared in the 90s and 2000s games none of their character dynamics with Sonic would function. The comics are OOC. Sonic Team did not know or care what teh comics were doing for years and immediately started dismantling them when they started to oversee them. These aren't opinions. There are objective differences between how the character is portrayed in the comics and games. Even IDW, which is also OOC, is less destructive to the game characters.

The thing that bothers me about Lesbian Sally isn't the fact that she's lesbian but the fact that the source material version of Sally is so straight that it affects the plot of multiple episodes. Also, Romance was not banned from reboot Archie. Sonic being romantic was banned. They were still allowed to give Knuckles a love interest. They were still allowed to show characters being romantically interested in each other. They were just not allowed to do that to SONIC. It seems very childish of Ian, when told he cannot use a ship, to just make one of the characters gay.
Maybe, maybe, characters can and will be changed by the creatives whenever they want.

Belle's behavior in IDW genuinely disgusts me. I get what Evan is going for and I have seen characters with this concept done well but she is so unfitting. The way she just submits to everyone angry at her and even says she understands if they want to kill her. It's never built up enough. The worst things she ever does are be awkward and cumbersome to deal with. If this was a high school drama she'd fit in better but this is an action comic so the extreme "You can smash me if you want" is ridiculous.

I was thinking, would it be cool if tails create some kind of bioweapon like shadow, and then this one breaches containment and causes a shitton of damage around mobius? But i don't know what dynamic would be more entertaining, for example if the thing destroys to spite tails out of hatred, or is jealous of him to the point everyone else should be destroyed, or maybe the thing in question is just sadistic and enjoys chaos with no hard feeling towards his creator.
