Human/Forerunner lore>Halo CE and 2 Bungie eraForerunners were evolved humans who came to Earth to fire the Halos. Some sacrafice themselves in a gene coffin to create present humans. Forerunners that were still alive lived among humanity, taught them, fucked them, and "PRODUCED" Human-Forerunners known as Reclaimers. Over the years, the Forerunners would die off of natural causes and their teachings became myths, legends, Bibles, religions, and misinterpreted by humanity and the aliens they saved in the past. Reclaimer genes were a genetic marker found in special humans like Master Chief, Spartan-IIs, and Miranda, daughter of Dr. Halsey. Reclaimers were meant to reclaim their Forerunner tech for humanity.>Halo 3 and Reach Bungie eraDue to time constraints, things needed to be changed to fit Bungie's new direction. Now ALL humans were Reclaimers, and humanity and Forerunners were the same species. This ended up being a mess because there were still some in the Halo CE and 2 camp, there was this new crap, and then there was Frank O'Conner. Bungie ultimately chose the Halo 3 direction with Contact Harvest, ODST, and Reach.>343/HS eraFrank and 343/HS took the CE and 2 lore, the 3 and Reach lore, and their own lore and fused them into one. Forerunners were now a completely different species from human with a common ancestry, Reclaimers was both a title for humanity to reclaim their place in the galaxy and the Mantle stolen from them, Humanity's Ancestors were now separated from the Forerunners and are now their own faction, Reclaimer is also a gene that only some humans have (original Bungie lore) that not all humans have, Reclaimer gene is now genesongs and possibly Forerunner genes. Even the Marathon lore made it back with a name change being Neural Physics that humanity are able to understand better than the Forerunners which could hint that Master Chief may learn it.Hopefully, this ends that war. Bungie should have finished Halo 2.

It's important to have the correct mindset about campaign v multiplayer. That being that a true Halo game is a campaign experience first and foremost.I'd be perfectly fine with the CE remake having firefight or some other PvE mode as its "multiplayer" offering for this reason.Halo CE/1 had multiplayer thrown in the game in the last few months of development for the same reason any multiplayer was in a console game at the time, it was just expected to be there. The campaign WAS the game, and the multiplayer was extra. Now, it did turn out to be really good and pretty addicting, but it's important to understand that this existed in mostly a party game atmosphere. Yes, there were comp tournaments, but they are not representative of the average Halo CE multiplayer session.Halo 2, or really rather Xbox Live, changed this, and set this unrealistic standard of Halo multiplayer being the face of the series. It was never meant to last, but it stuck, even as CoD 4 and onwards drained the popularity 3 years later.tl;drA PVE-only game is sorely needed at this point to correct this wrongdoing and artificial ballooning of Halo's multiplayer to be its core identity.

During the encounter where you get the target designator you can skip the entire second wave by targeting the Phantom they don't have you facing when you pick it up, neat trick. The three shield generators encounter is quite dynamic and there are a lot of ways that encounter can play out. Wraiths are way more aggressive in Halo 4 which is great. The encounter after you leave the Mammoth before you enter the Forerunner structure might be the best use of Jackal snipers in Halo. The designers understood how to use them to split your attention, focus too much on them and you'll get pushed by other enemies but give no attention and you'll get sniped taking out everything else. Evolutionary acceleration is a stupid thing to do if you're not going to power up the player somehow to represent that.>Shutdown343i finally gave the fans what they wanted with a Pelican section. Crawlers start being paired with Watchers, more interesting. The Promethean weapon first pickup animation plays every level in MCC and I don't think that's true in original Halo 4. These gondola sections have to be intentional parody right? The third tower is great, man canons play a part in the encounters and there's an optional Banshee vehicle section that plays well on foot too. The Banshee section gives way too many checkpoints though.

It was Chief showing humanity with silence and getting right to work shows his faith in her, the things left unsaid. You can completely shortcut the first Phantom encounter by enabling shields before the second Phantom enters, you have to be quick but it's very cool. Later in the level there are multiple encounters with Covenant boarding and you can vent them out of the airlocks as they're boarding to change the encounter, adds a dynamic element and sells the setting of a base outside of Halo 03 being boarded. The final Mantis encounter is great, pairing Banshees and Phantoms to draw your attention in the air while suicide Grunts, Wraiths, Ghosts and Fuel Rod enemies pressure you on the ground.>MidnightBold mission opening that takes inspiration other types of shooters but too easy. First few sequences of foot encounters have Watchers resurrecting Knights, you can kill the watchers fast to deny resurrects and change each encounter. Defend the spot encounter while the Crawlers attack from everywhere is very boring, Crawlers lack the aggression needed to make it engaging. In the Cortana split segment some of the floor cover pieces seems to be slightly hovering off the ground, don't know if this error is also in original Halo 4 or just an MCC issue. Ending with a QTE is lame, even a cutscene would have been better. Epilogue kind of beats you over the head with the themes of the game.>OverallPlaces more emphasis on having encounters that can shift/change dramatically with player decisions. Quick kills to skip, choosing a route, using a vehicle. Promethean Knights suck but later in the game there's more ammo/power to deal with them so it's not as bad. Not many sword or Concussion Rifle Elites throughout the game, though the Concussion Rifle is weak anyway. The story feels like two rushed games fused into one, a lot happens but there's not enough room for it all to breathe.

The projectile is slow enough and fires so rapidly that even when an ally miss their shots, the slow moving flame can still hit stuff. I'm not gonna use it against guilty spark or didact, but against swarms of mobs (specially flood) it's a fun alternative to rockets/bullets.Cobra is an acquired taste, for sure. But it does have some nice range/accuracy with the charge shot. The primary fire would be more fun buffed, but it's nice to have when you're up against a large number of sentinels and buggers. It's also faster than the scorpion, so it's great for getting into a better position. That being said, I think I'd still take a warthog over it. Like the Flamethrower hog, it's nice to have as variety. I think the primary fire should be turned into a turret function, and then an ally could man it, while you man the charge shot.
