At that point, Junpei starts getting his good skills and only increases in value from there due to his ability to fish for crits becoming more and more useful at that point. Eventually, he becomes one of the best party members after Koromaru and Akihiko simply because he's capable of fishing for crits to initiate all-out attacks.

I played the original when it released and it was my first time playing a Persona/SMT game.I had no idea what I was doing in terms of how these games operate and didn't realize how important the buff/debuff and status skills were, hence why i had a hard time.I also barely made personas and only had 1 good social link iirc by the time i fought Shido.
