Are pistol stealth builds viable on Very Hard? I'm only in the early game but it takes way too many headshots to kill and enemies start shooting immediately, so I'm forced to go takedown only. Will it become useful at higher levels, like netrunning?
>>550338451It doesn't take long to get to the point where you can one shot any enemy without a 3 segment health bar and once you get the deadeye stuff going they aren't any trouble either. If you use a cyberdeck there's that one quickhack that isolates enemies so shooting them doesn't alert their friends and otherwise a sandevistan makes it impossible to get caught.

I tried playing this in 2021 and dropped it after 10 hours because the story and characters are shit in a way that isn't even somewhat entertaining. You can get into Dogtown pretty early on after the heist (follow the Evelyn plot gigs), so don't pass up on that. Also mods, lots of mods.
The next game will take place in 2078, that way V is still in her coma and various NPCs can return.

They throw great katanas at you constantly and the Witcher sword in your stash is great too. you can do just leaping attacks and instakill people. stuns and finishers up close. time blocks to headshot enemies with their own bullets or direct them at environmental hazards. And thats without combining them with Sandevistan or Berserk. with shotguns and lmgs you will need to lean on Sandevistan for buffs. You will need to get microgenerator hand cyberware's damage. the annihilation weapons are in a weird place because they use a lot of stamina and want you to be point blank, but you will lack the stamina to move. they want you to be point blank but you will need to heavily invest in cyberware and adrenaline to survive. by around level 45 on very hard without Sandy, you might start doing decent damage with rng weapons if you scour the world the every dismemberment mod. but on lower difficulties where enemies are less spongy, it shouldnt hurt as much.
Recently I've been digging max cool and reflex. Being able to basically 1sk enemies while their buddies dont notice or throw knives into the skulls of enemies is pretty fun. That and the ability to just air dash into hostile territory and take out a dozen shits.

The thing I realized with Heavy Weapons is that specing into grenades accomplishes much of the same effect. The strength of Heavy Weapons is in dealing with hordes of enemies. Drawing a group into a choke point and unloading with LMGs, or waiting for enemies to line up so one shotgun blast can drop 3 of them at once. Grenades do the same thing, but can also be used to do mass non-lethal takedowns, or disable cyberware, or blind, etc. I always max Tech anyway, so it's more of a question of how much I rely on Adrenaline Rush, or if I'm making use of Quake or something.
