People who thought Guda would be cool were deluding themselves. When Babylonia was scheduled, all I could think about was >How are they going to work around Guda being a self-insert here?He genuinely did not have a real personality at that point. Criminally, it still ended up being worse than I imagined because they didn't try at all with Guda. He was as generic as could possibly be and the entire anime was brought down as a result. Quetz, Ana, Ushiwaka, Ishtar, and Gilgamesh were liked. Kingu made Enkidu popular so that's an accomplishment. Hell, some people sympathized was Tiamat. But I only recall Guda hate. Although, to be fair, how could they have made Guda better at the time? Probably easier said than done with the material.
