gwos, I just figured out what defensive state means. I was wondering if is a defensive buff but no, is actually just the defend action. That passive skill says "chance to grant defensive buff when intercepting with cover?" It means you have a chance to automatically defend when cover procs and it creates an opening. This is actually pretty big because the chance of proccing even at 1 is fairly decent and your knight can spend their turn doing damage instead of spamming defend now. You will want at least one alice though, I think this is actually a Savia coin investment.

The boss himself is just being super careful and having one really strong melee. I don't think they're all that weak, although ways to play around the Quickdraw mechanic would probably be the easiest way to up their power. If future content continues to play around elemental alignments then I could still see them being really useful.
