Picked up the game again after half a year and just speedrunning the game on easy mode to see the story. Just have to ask did I miss something or is the game just super unfun if you go through the whole game on hard mode? Just felt like grinding XP was annoying, normal battles drain resources like crazy, fights last too long and feels like not enough esence to level up enough archetypes to get buffs and debuffs.Unlike persona were you supposed to just do a dungeon in multiple days instead of trying to do it in one go and just stick with the base archetype to farm up enough essence for the other skills? In about the middle portion of the game I just felt like I had no good party buffs or debuffs because both faker and commander had no real offensive skills at the start to have them in my line ups.
I like the way enemies turn into trash mobs that you can kill without switching to a battle screen as you level up. This is better than P5/Royal's instant win mechanic. As someone who always grinds to an insane degree in JRPGs it makes it more comfy.
