Reading L'Etranger in French and it's slow going (I haven't studied French in almost 20 years) but it's a pretty good book. Just finished part 1.It's interesting because Mersault is teasingly called 'old man' by a friend of his (who I think Mersault suspects in that moment might be trying to cuck him) so he might be significantly older than the Mersault in Limbus (which also makes sense because his mother dies of natural causes meaning she was probably decently old) but I'm still picturing the Mersault in the story as looking like our Limbus Mersault. I did the same for Heathcliff in Wuthering Heights but adjusted the age since the story ends with Heathcliff pretty old.
