In my experience people just lack guidance really badly, I've seen so many hit a wall in sword trials in the past 2 tiers, the cracks in their upgrades started to widen because they did not learn how to/what to upgrade during that time, they did not learn the mechanics of the bosses and were easily carried until there. Now because of their garbage upgrades they get one shot over and over and waste revive charges.
I talked to many of them, told them about mechanics and what upgrade paths they can take and what to focus on etc, even the shitty improvement guide helps a lot if they can even spot it in the first place, and seen substantial improvements as a result.
While there's always gonna be retards, the game is extremely shit at explaining things and guiding players through leveling and I believe most of the playerbase can be redeemed if they started working on that.
Of course you have to keep in mind this is all in the west, the chinks are probably used to all of this esoteric bullshit UI in the first place and get a steady stream of the required information from their communities.

I have a 3070. It's regularly dropping insanely hard unless I'm on the outskirts of the city standing still and I've already dropped the lighting down to begin with. When I pan the camera it even hitches for a solid second sometimes. stratsword + nameless spear is a lot more aggressive since you're using your spear Q to recover stam to fuel stratsword's bleed spam (or dodge if you need to), and when the boss is stationary/stance broken you can hold charge for the funny. Nameless is also really good at proccing shit since the hold attack does a bazillion hits, so it's great when you run fivefold bleed, which is also a decent option for strat sword. I run bitter season with it for the dotmaxx autism, but it's actually not that good and you can put in something else in there.

you can also drop wolfchaser for a different inner because nameless' isn't that important.

in pvp it's a pretty strong combo machine, but then again, it's hard to combo with the ping in global. Nameless spear is still pretty gay with the insta stun though, but I haven't pvp'd all that much.

I pretty frequently top damage in rooms just fucking around, and if I see someone doing better, I can lock in and go from 2nd to 1st on the next round. Strat sword just does that much damage.

The damage reduction is not bad for legend singleplayer but not important online. In raids it mainly exists just to give you the empowered Mo Dao Q and to reapply the 10% vulnerable debuff (which also benefits your teammates)

It's not even close lol. 15% more damage on just light attacks ~half the fight with an extra 5% vs exhausted. So on average, you're getting like an 8 - 9% damage boost consistently, and only on light attacks. Hawkwing is a permanent 10%. The flat stats are also affinity vs min damage which also isn't comparable. Even the defensive set you get alongside Hawkwing is just way better

It actually just gave me a free one when I got there via the bounty quest. I spoke to a random NPC, they went "Whoa there buddy, we don't take kindly to smoothskins, where's your mask?" and then I got a rat one out of nowhere for free and went "Haha, I'm actually one of you" and then I could go to any shop.

That's why it would just be temporary for the discussion just to make it flow better. Once you got out of a discussion it would put you back into your face accessory or wouldn't even replace it if you are wearing another mask.
