There are like ~100 characters that all have their own unique kits and their own unique relics. It's very much an homage to Final Fantasy and the SNES era of RPGs, and imo it's the closest thing we have to an offline version of Opera Omnia. The only memorable tracks are the opening/overworld theme, and Relm's theme. I can't even remember any of the other tracks, and even the worst FF games have good soundtracks. Not VI though. I keep saying that I think Final Fantasy VI is the game that need a Remake the most, because it just has never been the game that everyone else thinks it is. I want it to be that game, but it isn't. I think Tactic’s lack of side and postgame content really hurt it. I’ve heard the PSP port addresses those issues but I’ve only ever played the Ivalice Chronicles version. I was also disappointed that the lands and artifacts you discover via errands are just easter egg references to other Final Fantasies and don’t result in any new maps/weapons. Despite all that it still makes it into my five favourite Final Fantasies. Maybe.

Once they are finished with their Commands, they do a hop backwards animation, and then will take steps backwards towards the front row again. The front/back row mechanic is an extremely subtle, automated and elegant mechanic. It's like the base level bone for the "puppeteer" style of control in the "Command Synergy Battle" system, which allows you to manipulate player positioning and even block/dodge enemy attacks based on what Commands you have queued up and when. It's actually so fantastic and fascinating to me, it's a really cool and unique way to do "turn based battles" that makes it look dynamic and cinematic.
