I made a huge mistake trying to play Rise on bullshit mode. Every time I think I don't need to backtrack and save I get instakilled by some stupid ass bug like the camera randomly deciding to spin around in circles while swimming underwater (apparently Lara can only hold her breath for 10 seconds) and then I lose 30 minutes of progress. You also can't change the difficulty so I would have to restart the entire game again in order to play it on survivor without the bullshit save system. This is implemented terribly so I guess I'm just not going to play it and skip to Shadow.

You know, modern controls don't feel that bad for the remasters outside of maybe combat (though you can cheese a lot of the AI, especially humans, since you're so agile, like continually circle strafing to their back while unloading). I've played through TR1R first with tank controls, then with modern, and I actually prefer modern 90% of the times. I think the hate that modern controls get is because the game doesn't bother to explain how to actually use them. Like if you want to ledge grab, you just run off the platform holding the grab button and Lara will automatically grab on. If you want to back up to do a precision jump, hold your weapon equip button down and press back (back and side flips are also initiated by holding down the weapon equip button and jumping back or to the sides).

Not only for moves and lining up but the camera as well so that it's easy to miss things. 'Modern' controls certainly make it easier to run around an open areas and for some combat. You can in fact run around easily with tank controls using the left stick as well. I'm totally new to tank controls, but I know these games are made for these controls so I took the time to practice with them because I am not a retard, but kids these days want modern gratification and and instead fumble around with 'modern' controls and then complain about how the game is bad. Tank controls are the way to go because the game mechanics require it. You must be 100% precise to make all the jumps you have to make and you just can't get that with modern controls. It's easier in TR1, but TR3 especially gets incredibly tricky with modern controls. All of these games are designed around clunky controls, therefor its better to just go use the clunky controls. tank controls are just part of the authentic experience. They are what makes the platforming so challenging and rewarding.

Why did Natla send Larson to kill Lara, anyway? Lara was working under Natla up to that point. Lara probably wouldn't have handed over the scion to Natla anyway, but Natla couldn't have been sure. Additionally, it probably would have been easier and safer to just steal from Lara's mansion later (like some of the other main antagonists have done).
