You're going around finding bits of info and piecing them together like a schizo with a pinboard.And there are fewer straight skill checks to access hidden areas, more like you have to find an item to access one area, in which you can find another item to unlock somewhere else on the other side of the map

Lots of navigating obstacles and just figuring out how to get around the map. The maps are much less linear than the RT ones

Opening the inventory unpauses and speeds up the game, so switching armor mid-battle is very awkward and often not worth it. You have to be a stinky elf or a gnome (disgusting).
