For some reason most Sonic characters lose a lot of their most interesting traits when handed off to anyone other than their creators. Sally included. Archie would have you believe that her position is to be Sonic's tard wrangler who scoffs at him. Her specifically described trait in SatAM is that she has absolutely no control over Sonic and has to rely on trying to push him in her direction and hope he agrees. The average fan will say she's made redundant by Amy. This is perhaps true if you think her role is "Angry girlfriend" but her actual roles are "The smart one" and "Foil of Sonic". The characters that make her redundant (As pointed out by Violet many times) are Knuckles and Tails.
