>>550927751spam guidance on your allies and assail on the leader and the sniper that calls reinforcements. cogg tanks the melee guy that gets placed behind laarthyr. position haymar and epione to the upper left (assuming larry is the center) near the other sniper and melee guys and saros a little behind/under them. this way you can attack with haymar and epione and the most of the enemies will either group up to go after your party, they might prioritize laarthyr, but it might only be one of them, not a huge deal. then use saros to ignite them and rhyme the fire aoe or the molten beam attack.i put the acolyte on that little tower thing, but he tends to die in this fight since laarthyr usually gets hit at least once and that breaks his concentration and expands the dome, and as the officer you usually want to stay in cover and give people extra turns to do stuff. you can likely put him somewhere in cover outside the dome pretty easily. once you mop up the leader, the melee guys, and the sniper that calls reinforcements you shatter the enemy and can instawin or just continue the combat to take care of the rest, if they aren't dead already.
So if I have already done the research from that puta falls place, can i save the dudes? I'll kill the demon in his personal lab anway right?

The key with the fight while defending Larry is to get everyone out of his immediate vicinity as much as possible, to avoid the DoT effect that was hinted at earlier.Then use everyone's concentration breaking abilities to crowd control fags and stop them winding up their grenades or precise attacks on Larry. Also the guy way out at the back calling in reinforcements.I liked how the music switches to a more triumphant mode when you're about to win, and how you can end the fight early if almost everyone is slain.

I think I've finally narrowed it all down to a few options for what game to play after I finish with Throne of Bhaal.Fallout 1, Planescape Torment, or something more modern just for the hell of it.On the one hand, Fallout is older, has been in my steam library for a lot longer than the others, and is full on turn based, which should provide different enough gameplay over RTWP. And since it's a lot more reading heavy rather than gameplay, I'm hoping to just breeze on through it without reaching wall encounters that stick at me for a while. (mostly only an issue in BG1 now that I think about it; not so much in BG2) I like difficult games, but sometimes I need to just sit down and breeze through some mooks for a while, encounter a boss, use the first strategy I can think of, and come out on top feeling good about it all. What's the best way to speed through Act 1 in Rogue Trader? It's easily the most boring part of the game.
Just finished pic related bros. Never have I felt a bigger 'meh' while playing a CRPG; most of the time I can tell when a game has the sauce within the first hour, but I couldn't make up my mind until the credits screen for Tyranny. If we're being fair, gameplay wise it feels exactly the same as POE1; i mean this could have been a spinoff DLC and I wouldn't have even known. The combat is good; Obsidian knows how to make good combat systems in CRPGs, I think they've proved that by now. The story is actually really good as well, I love the play on the 'chosen one' trope, and I'm one of the few people in this world who can handle a lore dump here and there, so Obsidian's storytelling is palatable for me. That being said, it's got some pretty big downsides, mainly that it feels like for me the game was designed for multiple playthroughs, but without spoiling anything, there's 1 route that makes sense, has good writing, and fits the story, and the other routes are very stupid; you have to suspend your disbelief like crazy, up to the point where if I were forced to play them, I'd just sigh and say "i guess i'm only playing this just to find out what happens". Also the companions are extremely barebones; I felt almost 0 attachment to any of them save Sirin and that's only because she's the best girl, none of the other companions were even close to interesting. And again, I won't spoil anything, but the ending feels like they were anticipating a 'Tyranny 2' or maybe a prequel or something, but when nobody bought this game and Obsidian pulled support for the game within a few months of release, it effectively confirmed that this game will never ever see a sequel, so you're forced to accept that the game's story is wrapped up and finished, and that leaves a bad taste in my mouthOverall i'd give it a 6/10. Good for a pickup if you're a hardcore CRPGcel, but if not, I'd say just fuck it.

You don't have to fight everything.As for me though, I played solo and I did fight everything. I actually liked the combat. What I found to be the most effective was consumable spam. If you can burn consumables you can wildly change fights. A single smoke bomb can take a group of enemies from 90% hit chance to 90% miss chance. One stasis bomb can take 3 elite enemies out of the fight and put a huge debuff on them when they get back into the fight. One EMP grenade can take the hardest enemies in the game and make them mortal. And then there's the aggro stims which are the bread and butter of any combat build. Plus if you've been playing frugal with your resources then you'll be much more able to use energy weapons in the fights that really need them.

I still think Original Sin 2 handled encounters horrible. If you go into a place too early in RT you can still win depending on your builds and party. I cleared out the Chaos infested ship as soon as I left Footfall. But in DOS2 if you step foot outside the "intended" area for your level you will absolutely get bodied and no build is going to save you. Driftwood is the best example of this.
