I was surprised that it's not the same writer because he does the same thing where they start a scene in the middle of the action and then fill in the details of how the protagonist arrived at that point. It's a strange sort of setup that feng seems to do a lot, so maybe it's the director who likes to do that.I haven't gotten far enough to say how good the actual plot is going to be in the routes. There is a lot of goofball humor and a lot of name autism. Some of the characters (Matsuri, Shione, Karin) are really fun to have on screen and others just suck (Kaede and Mizuka). I think Kaede and Mizuka are just too much like stock standard characters that you could find in any eroge, so they're pretty grating if you've seen their type before.Matsuri looks generic, but she has an interesting sense of humor and a very down to earth attitude. Karin has the chuuni thing which is pretty funny, and the protagonist is trying to make her open up instead of hiding behind her alternate personality. Shione is my personal favorite type of shy loli character and she has by far the best character design, but I am hoping she gets a bit more personality as the game goes on.

I just finished KnS.So Toko is just dead? Why does the game keep hinting you'll see here again? I know they added sequel bait in the end there, but we know she gets cut up in the normal end I don't see how she can turn up again. I see she's not in any of the character lists for KnS2 or 3. Wondering if that's for spoiler reasons. I would have still expected her to be in the character list anyway for flashback purposes. I am glad I read Cartagra first so I can appreciate Shugo, Kazuna, and Hatsune. Though it felt wrong to have Natsume to have sex with people other than Shugo. Her and Nene should be exclusive sister wives to Shugo.Enjoyed the mystery and story overall. It got way too contrived towards the end with all the connections coming out of nowhere, but still was a fun journey. Loved how they paced it with detective moments and slice of life moments. Characters and pacing is great like Cartagra.

A common rule for solving a mystery is that when a character randomly mentions a tidbit of info that seems to have absolutely nothing to do with everything else going on, that piece of info is actually the biggest clue. They keep bringing up the goddamn sakura trees and petals, it's repeatedly mentioned and figures prominently in pretty much every aspect of the mystery but I have absolutely no idea how it could possibly be related.Maybe some people have like a reverse version of Natsumi's sakura+wind danger sense?

Okay, so in Jusatsu/Meichou, people are murdered every couple years on the anniversary of Eiichirou's death, and in the third arc, people die every year around the time Sakura - oh my god her name is LITERALLY Sakura are they spelling it out???? died.The only thing I can think of is, since they specifically mentioned dracunculiasis again, is that the special sakura tree in Arata/Motoki causes the disease Natsumi has that lets her see the future, and it's somehow triggered by someone dying near the sakura tree, and for some reason once it happens once people in Arata are killing every year in April? Gotou Erina is one of the best characters in fictoin.I feel like I have all the pieces but I don't have a goddamn clue. >>551061158Unironically, I think people focus too much on that kind of thing. Those are singular, contained instances of language trickery which can be explained in a TL note without much problem. The bigger issue for translating works comes from when the moment-to-moment text is hard, like, extremely high level of character voice, prose, etc. Like translating Mareni would be harder because you genuinely need to be on the level of a famed literary author to be able to render his prose in English well. Something like Shigatsu you could TL like 99% easily and then the 1% would be unfortunate but not a big deal. People focus way too much on that kind of stuff instead of the meat of a body of text.

There's a lot more that could be said about this game than what he did, though, such as its impressive metatextual nature.
