In an ingenious move, they waited until a major update, when the plugins would be down longest, to push some of the cutest cash shop outfits we've seen in a while. They've pushed cash shop updates without shutting off the game before, obviously, but releasing the good stuff with 7.4 was really smart because (intentionally or not) it put aesthetic modders in a bind where they probably hated the way their vanilla character looked and felt like a solution to this temporary problem was in the shop. The items sold like hotcakes. Expect more of this in the future. I mean, imagine if they're aware of this strat. Imagine if they begin doing weekly "maintenances" that fix basically nothing, but do force dalamud to patch. And in that downtime, they sell you shit that you can't preview very well (because glamourer is down and most people don't use anam anymore) that's cuter than the vanilla shit you're wearing now. Imagine how deep they can go if they keep tapping into our psyche like this.
