If that game had actually released, Sega of America would have been in the driver's seat and we'd be living in a completely different timeline.Instead, the Saturn got a shitty port of 3D Blast, Tiara Boobowski got thrown in the garbage, and Sonic Team got to run the franchise for the next 20 years (into the ground arguably, but I honestly doubt the Gaijin would've done better considering the writing for that period of Archie). Most pairings involving Sonic or Shadow require mischaracterization and people only single out Sonally because there is public record of it being deemed ooc officially. It isn't uniquely bad. The people who ship it do not insist that it would work in the games. It was arguably Sega's own fault for not establishing ground rules. The same thing would happen if the Archie comics made Rouge and Shadow or Sonic and Amy an official couple. It is not fair to doggedly target fans of Sonally for mischaracterizing Sonic. Especially when Sega still allows English dubs to make character changes.
