A confident, skilled writer wouldn’t need to preemptively announce sensitive topics in such a blunt way, because doing that strips the moment of its impact and turns it into a disclaimer instead of a story beat. Good writing signals discomfort through tone, pacing, and context, letting the player "feel' it before they consciously name it. When you spell everything out ahead of time, you lose surprise and weaken the emotional payoff, and it starts to feel infantilizing. Like the game doesn’t trust the player to engage with difficult or mature material on their own. If the subject were handled properly, it wouldn’t need such a limp-wristed warning. Not disagreeing the trannies in reddit wouldn't cry about it though.

KIM makes this worse overall, because when you step back, you realize these characters are dumping their deepest, darkest secrets over what’s basically an in-game DM client. The forced rambling, the constant ellipses, it all feels artificial and undercuts whatever sincerity the scene is aiming for.

I think of it like a horror movie in that if you know exactly when the jump scare is coming, it doesn’t land the same.

used to have health types so stacking them would also stack vulnerabilities. they replaced it with a straight resistance to damage type, so you can stack all four. in two generations. same goes for the antigens, you get both parents antigens in the child including the polarities, so free forma.

Pressures inherit the resistances and polarities of any genetic templates you add in, so you can stack all 4 of the different types. Personally that seems useless because a 50% damage resist doesn't matter on a companion who's making draw is the fact that it's immortal anyway.

The Unfair Tauron Strike give your next 4 melee attacks a delayed aftershock effect that hits for big damage in a wide radius, which gets buffed by mods ont he weapon. Seeing as how it takes so long to charge the strikes, not that useful of a buff.
