V1C3 had some real potential to be a great story with a strong message, but it fumbled it kinda hard and makes Hoshino seem like a retard when it does not need to. It's fine and has strong moments, but I just wish it actually committed to the theme of overcoming loss and trauma. That last bit where Hoshino is sperging out in Terror mode and she just happens to get her closure magically by speaking with her dead friend instead of moving on from it with the help of her friends and her own strength is such a foolish decision. It could have really cemented the lesson of perseverance after tragedy, but nah. People in real life, Children or not, have to deal with the loss of loved ones all the time and putting out this story where your main character throws a world ending hissy fit because she didn't get closure until she speaks with the ghost of her or some shit is pathetic. I really loved Hoshino before this chapter and I still do, but it's such a blight on her character

I just find it unbecoming of the story to include ghost Yume. People are prone to blaming themselves for their whole life in situations like Hoshino with no way to get that peace of mind where she knows that Yume still cares for her. Considering how they parted before Yume died, that possibility that Yume died while resenting Hoshino is very real and could have been the case if not for the ghost shit. That alone can unravel a person with guilt and could have been a really powerful point for the story

Know that you can never bring them back, but what they were to you can never change.
