how exactly should I be raising my armies Tww3?Do most people use global recruitment and just build their military buildings wherever they fit? Do I want to build expensive, high end military buildings in secure provinces or rush them close to my borders where they will be needed for seiges? Also, the following happens to me often in p much every campaign once I conquer my neighbor and get started on the next>beastmen or savage orcs pop up in a province>raze and pillage everything>if not beastmen or orcs, it's a war declaration by a nearby faction on that side of the map>income takes hits>both of my armies are OTW to engage my enemy faction or already engaged>need to march them all the way back to the opposite end of my territoryI rarely build garrison buildings unless they're right on the border of an enemy and I know we'll eventually battle. they just seem like a big gamble that has the chance to do nothing but cost me money and a build slot. And raising another army in the raided or threatened area is hard since the province either doesn't have good recruitment buildings or the enemy is so close that they'll just crush the army before it musters. If I build the new army in a safe province then I'll lose a lot of territory waiting for it to muster and it might get double teamed and wiped out anyway.I know it's mucho texto but I'm tired of this happening in all my campaigns and I'm wondering how I can react to this situation or prevent it altogether. 3 armies often cost me lots of gold and it's hard to maintain them all without gold buildings that get pillaged or occupied by attackers.

My port settlement got sacked by Arbaal's goons in a blitzkrieg, but we pushed them back for now. Throgg hasn't declared war on me yet, which is unusual. Katarin wants me to go to war with rasputin, but I have military access and trade with him, not worth the hit to my reliability. Golgfag is also eating him up. I'm currently working on the deeps in Kraka Drak, hopefully it's enough to finance a second army so I can go on the offensive into Norsca before Throgg gets too strong. His trolls would probably fuck up my slayers.What do you guys think? Move into Norsca or go east towards the chorfs/arbaal?

If you are doing reasonably well you should constantly be outrunning your own infrastructure. Save your regiments of renown for an emergency army and remember that ten recruitment buildings subtracts one turn from global recruit times.

Dont just upgrade every settlement you take in the beginning. Funnel most of your cash into your starting province and use that as a high tier recruitment province since it's usually the most defensible. I'd keep one army to defend your lands, probably a cheap army at first with low tier units. You want your main army to intercept the strong enemy armies, your secondary army can deal with the crapstack spam usually.Experience with the game will help you understand how the AI works and over time, you'll get better at the game and anticipate some of the bullshit thrown your way.Also, ambush baiting is a solid tactic to try and outmaneuver the enemy AI. If your ambushing army isn't detected, the AI wont see it as visible on the map meaning it's more likely to blunder into movement range for your hidden army.

Skill point wise it for general focused to get the red line, dwarfs lords are pretty tanky except the slayer, and most of the early game it's much better to have them buff your troops, and if you pick runelord get rune of wrath and ruin for dps. For build slots your priority should be getting the income building/oathgold for crafting, and against low armoured troops irondrakes will carry you through the endgame even, also always get at least 4 artillery in each army. And personally I wouldn't bother with corruption as long as you can maintain control.

Slayers are only good with the slayer lord that buffs them, even Malakai slayers are dogshit, only ungrim’s slayers are decent.

The reason defensive stats are better than offensive stats is because they give the unit more time to attack/more rolls. It’s better to have lower dps if the unit survives longer to dish out more damage, and its not just the unit you’re trading with that’s dishing out damage. So, in the context of the dwarf roster, I prefer the armored dwarf infantry because the don’t die as much, aren’t as vulnerable to missiles, and work better with the missile units. Slayers do damage but then you’re stuck with weakened units that are always replenishing slower than the rest of the army.

Slayers should be your whole army if you use them. You don't sprinkle one or two. You need to use the whole roster. From the Daemon/Dragon slayers, to the Doomseekers and Giant Slayers all the way to the Pirates and Hewers. Slayers aren't specialist infantry. They're a way of life.
