the reason idw's canon is falling apart is BECAUSE it keeps trying to have long arcs when Sonic doesn't DO long arcs. He has short adventures. Making these long arc stories fit into the main canon implies they're the bulk of Sonic's life. Flynn and Stanley can't let go of Archie.
