Rivens have 2-3 positive stats and 0-1 negative stats. These are balanced so if it has a negative the positives are higher, if it has 2 stats they are higher than if it has 3. Because crit chance and damage multiply together you generally want both of these and a negative that doesn't matter like finisher damage or zoom. For companions just priming status, you would focus on multishot or fire rate. Archguns can benefit from ammo maximum as using them in regular missions is limited to what ammor they have before disappearing. Melee really want crit chance as it doubles for heavy attacks which is all you want to use.
