Opinions on why KHIV hype isn't as big as 3.

Something that really riles me up about this series is how godawful it is at getting the point across about how long each game is. The way everything is structurd and framed you'd think everything was taking place right after another and everything happens over a relatively short period of time. Except we know that's not the case because there are multiple worlds where multiple days progress like atlantica, arendelle, the caribbean, san fransokyo. And the ultimania that straight up says it took that it took 5 days to go back to hollow bastion 16 after sora became a heartless and then 10 days to actually to kill ansem. And that Sora wandered around in castle oblivion for a fucking month. Seriously the only game that actually managed to portray this was Days solely because of it's calendar. I hope kH4 has a calendar.

Can someone explain to me why they don't fill this drought with a "3.8" style games that is either the handheld games that were not ported in the .5 titles or the mobile games (Unchained X, Dark Road, Whatever they had for Missing Link story wise) in the KH3 engine?
There is no way it would be that demanding project wise and it would make easy money.

Melody of Memory was 5 years ago, even if Missing Link released there would still be a drought worse than the KH series has ever seen. We would still have loads of important lore locked to mobile games, some of which aren't even playable anymore.
A 3.5 was always the logical option here with how important the lore is to 4 and how the engine is sitting right there waiting to be used. It would be a relatively lower cost project since the story and designs are already done and could be flipped quicker than a new project and still make a lot of money while setting up 4 for greater success. It is the smartest advancement for Square to take and them not doing it is silly.

i don't disagree, but still the point is that they need to plan it and place it and all that red tape bullshit so they can't just do it overnight. Also, people like to forget disney literally owns the series so they're the ones calling the shots, or at the very least need to be there when decisions are made. Like if you want a similar situation look at Dragon Quest, they're clearly taking their sweet time for DQ12 but besides like one year gap (iirc) they still managed to announce and/or release at least one game a year, even if some are "just" remakes.
KH could do the same, like it could be a good time to remake UX and DR, and maybe they're actually doing that but the point is that there's no peeps about it cause we were supposed to have ML to tide us over KH4 and they didn't account for it to be cancelled instead, meaning they didn't have those as backup plans in mind. Like if in 2020 they planned "next 5 years are gonna be ML released in 2022 and KH4 in 202x" and that's it then no wonder we're not seeing anything else, cause those two games were all they planned. And again, the fact we're not seeing anything else, unlike for example DQ, means imo exactly that, they didn't plan to make anything but ML and KH4.

i still think ML shouldn't have been cancelled, they should've just reworked it to remove the gps bullshit and prepare a release on at least steam, if not consoles as well (besides the obvious mobile). And i know the plot itself was tied to the gps thing with them going to disney skinned versions of real world places, but they could've kept that while just using fixed real world places so that mission number 1 is always in the peter pan version of chicago or whatever the fuck

Judy is a rabbit that isn't being taken seriously but wants to be a real police officer one day instead of a traffic cop. She has just moved to Zootopia. Nick is a conman who gets involved because he knows the city and is being blackmailed through parking tickets or something by Judy. The overarching mystery is that random carnivores are becoming feral. Things happen and they find out the mayor is relocating all of the feral cases to a secret hospital to work on a cure without the public knowing. Judy uncovers this and the mayor gets thrown out and his supportive Ewe deputy becomes mayor. Judy starts being used as a positive symbol to show that herbivores are great people and she ends up accidentally saying that herbivores are just better people than carnivores because of not going feral which causes drama. Her and Nick eventually reconcile and they discover that the Ewe has being drugging the carnivores to turn them feral so that herbivores will turn against carnivores as the herbivores do outnumber the carnivores so they'd have a chance of winning. They expose her and save the day.
