Probably easier to do it in gauntlet. People don't usually sit still in that mode so they're more likely to be cold. Especially in the first round where a lot of the mcoms spawn in places with no barrels nearby.

map dependent though, and for 3 mode dependent. you only saw a10s and frogtfoots on rush. for standard conquest maps you typically saw f35 or f18s go up against flankers. maybe some of the later maps like armored stand might have had them mixed but i still think that was mode dependent too.

Yeah, they weren't in 3 much. But 2 had maps with both types active at once. Clean Sweep/Daqing/Kubra all had both fighters and attackers. And I'm pretty sure Gulf of Oman, except I think that was only for MEC since they had a land base and US air was all naval so a Mudhen wouldn't fit.

Shotguns suck but SMGs work fine. The Vector and APC do have problems if you have to take on more than one person at a time and aren't aiming perfectly but that's a fair trade in return for them killing individuals really fucking fast.
The bigger problem with SMGs in BR is that the map design means you have a lot more long range fights where rifles are better.
