When the team landed on Voxai Colony Beta, Shade warned him of the Voxai's mind powers. Shade and Knuckles also have many POW moves together in the game. Writer Ian Flynn has stated that he would like to feature Shade in another story and already has ideas for one, but is still waiting for authorization to publish it.in the section of Sonic Chronicles' sequel, if the game would have came out, close to the end of the story Shade and Knuckles would have engaged in a romantic relationship with each other.Penders killed all of Knuckles story reverence and his chance at getting laid forever

They think they're either besties who hang out and date, or that they don't care about each other at all. Neither is true. When Shadow saves Rouge, he's often doing it for a practical reason. He will rationalize it in a cold way like that, and he's not lying - it really does help him achieve his goals. Yet, there's also a part of him that doesn't want her to get hurt, and for a reason beyond it simply being practical. Somewhere in him, there is some sort of care for her, but it gets flanderized and exaggerated to an extreme degree. If push comes to shove and their goals contradict each other, they've shown they're not above fighting each other. I believe that the subtlety of Shadow's care for Rouge makes it more compelling. When people try to portray him as acting out of kindness or some deep wholesome love, their dynamic becomes uninteresting to me. Shadow isn't a generic hero. He doesn't have any deep friendships, nor does he want them. But he's not a robot, he has a soul, and Rouge is his occasional ally that he cares about more than any stranger.Sonic Team doesn't really show Shadow and Rouge just hanging out when there's no big threat or mission. That's why Rouge often has to manipulate or exploit him to get him to do anything. For example, in the 2025 Joypolis dialogue, Shadow has no idea what the photo booth is, and Rouge persuades him that he needs to investigate it so a picture can be taken of him. It was a bit cute how he was annoyed by that.

That's probably what you're thinking of. Sally and Sonic never really dated for long. They get together in issue 125 and then she slaps him 5 issues later. Then they get back together almost a decade later (Issue 222) right before Sega gets angry and shuts down the relationship permanently (issue 230) and then demands that the relationship not be canonically recognized. There was no period of time where Sally was a longtime girlfriendof Sonic.

Why were so many comic writers so obessed with Sonic getting a love interest, I never read archie fully I think only read the champions arc and outside of Honey's personality and how gaga people went for her I don't remember much else other than Team Dark watching the fights, Espio jobbing to Bean, Knuckles and Bear having a very violent fight that couldn't be shown on panel, Tails getting bullied by Honey but redeeming himself by stopping Metal Sonic, Knuckles knocking Amy out because she was lost in her own head about wither or not to fight Knuckles seriously or if Knuckles is fighting seriously and sonic and honey fighting with Sonic ending it by throwing Honey out of the ring to her excitement, through there's one thing about Honey in that arc I was never able to figure out, are her wings real or attachments? They seemed to emote with her like drooping with her ears when she realized just how insane Breezie really is and spreading and wide when she's excited like how her cat ears stand up

This kind of petty nonsense extends to even animated series like Avengers EMH's vs Avengers where the first show was killed because the guy in charge hated shows that try to have series long arcs instead of being episodic so people can watch any random episode and not care about having to understand what happened in previous episodes to a new show that was so episodic that people didn't like it because it felt like if things were resolved so easily so quickly what was the point of having all these heroes together for such easily resolved problems, especially because that show used the hulk as a DEM nearly every episode to resolve things while Thor and others just jobbed. Batman might be the most notorious hero character for this kind of bull shit, Frank Miller and Bruce Timm did irreparable damage to his character as a result especially when it comes to ships, dear god the ships, Bruce keeps teetering between being the bat always and everyday to being the biggest man slut in comic book history, kinda like peter parker and logan

I'm confused. Did people here read Archie or not? Sonic and Sally's relationship is a total travesty that in total lasts around 13-15 issues across the entire 300+ Archie comics run. I'm seriously asking did you read the comic? The Sonic and Sally that get married literally aren't part of the main comic. They're a spinoff continuity that is incompatible with the mainline canon where Amy arguably doesn't exist (unless you consider Bumblekast statements to be canon).Sonic and Sally are not in a relationship for the first ten (Yes, a decade) years of the comic and then finally get together in issue 125. Sonic then spends two years in outer space before coming back to earth and then Sally slaps him in the face, fucks ten other guys and refuses to date Sonic again until 2011. Then she's immediately turned into a robot, Sonic Team starts paying attention to the comic and then gets really trigger happy with the mandates to the point of banning any acknowldgement that Sonic has been in a relationship. The comic's own thesis is that they are not compatible and that Sonic does not enjoy being her husband in the one and only continuity where they actually pair off. I think you guys are being a bit cynical. Sonic fans might be strict but even the most hardened purist will back off as long as you don't step right onto one of their landmines. If we're comparing IDW, Archie, and the manga then yes, Sonic is characterized differently in all three and the manga is the only one that doesn't add new character traits to Sonic. That might be strict and anti-art but that's all it really takes. Sonic's character is easy. Don't make him stupid, cocky, or romantic and most people won't even notice the differences because those are their main triggers.Shadow on the other hand is a different story. Good luck with him.

Westerners are aclimated to it by the comics and cartoons. That brings us to the next thing.Sonic being cocky to the point of rudeness only happens to adversaries in the japanese media. In the western side he does it to fellow allies. The popular examples of Sonic toying with an opponent or mocking them in japan are exclusively done to people trying to harm or offend him. That's why there was backlash to Sonic's constant mockery of the Flash. There are no japanese instances of Sonic doing this. Third, the idea of Sonic having an ego. This is stated in almost every western adaptation at least once and never in japanese. Someone could come to this conclusion from the games but the games clearly don't want you to *think* he has an ego. When IDW Tails, Archie Reboot Sally, or Boom Amy calls Sonic egotistical it's going to set people off.
