What I like to do is have the game open before reset, preferably with around 50-99 candy, and when reset happens I buy 9 candy refreshes so I'm at 950+. That way you'll get the 120 daily candy from the subscription, everything you grab from relics and the shop, and 100 candy in the morning from the daily bonus candy. There's shop packs for 1000 candy and your limit is 999, so you can rest assured that anything surplus you buy from the cash shop will properly be sent to your inventory in a way that you can safely redeem it.
